Here he would get his physical and report for duty. Hopefully by the time he’d done that the Quarter Master would have allocated him some quarters. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Entering sickbay he looked around, taking in the sights, sounds and smells of the clinically clean, windowless room that would be his workplace. For the first time since coming aboard, he felt a sense of being at home. Perhaps it was that the familiar smells of the dissinfects that adorned all medical facilities… : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : -Harry : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : “Please lay still” the doctor shouted as the doors to sickbay slid open “I’ll.. I didn’t say keep moving” she said as she quickly looked back at the new arrival hoping it to be a security officer, but was even more relieved when she saw that he was her new doctor “worluld you grab that hypo spray and inject him please let” she yelled as she finally managed to hold the ensign down. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Lt. Shadowflower, CMO : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Harry rushed over to assist. He picked up the hypospray indicated and instinctively checked the contents and the dosage were appropriate for the patient before he injected it into the patient’s right arm. He then looked to the display to check that the medication had the desired effect. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : -Harry : : : : : : : : : : : : As quickly as the hypo spray hissed the paitent slowly started to drift into a peaceful slumber. Taking a few deep breaths. “Nightmares” she said as she extended her hand to him ” Lt Aurora Shadowflower. Thank you for you help they seem to be getting worse, and I’m not sure if he’s actually visiting the counselor as often as he should” : : : : : : : : : : : : Lt Shadowflower, CMO : : : : : : : : : : “I must admit that based on my experience checking in with the counsellor that it is actually quite possible that he has been keeping his appointments,” Harry said, “That is assuming it was actually the counsellor that i just checked in with.” : : : : : : : : : : -Harry : : : : : : : : The moment felt awkward. and in the moments of silence, Harry debated with himself whether he’d said the right thing or not… : : : : : : : : -Harry : : : : : : “Around here its hard to tell. This counselor person you think was the counselor he didnt happen to meantion a singing door did he?” : : : : “Ummm,” Harry hesitated. Harry genuinely couldn’t remember if he had or not. Surely something so bizarre would have stuck in his head. The truth was the whole experience with the counsellor had been so unconventional the counsellor could have said anything at all and it would not have seemed out of context. : : : : : She motioned to the next available biobed and nodded to him to have a seat. ” if you would like we can get both ur checkin and physical out of the way at once. Will make keeping an eye on him easier” : : : : : : Lt. Shadowflower, CMO : : : : Harry was glad that the counsellor had moved the subject on. He had never heard of a singing door before. : : : : “Sounds like a plan,” he replied before he got up onto the biobed indicated. : : : : -Simons : : “Has anything changed simce your last exam that should be noted in your file but iant?” She asked as she begun the scan of her new doctor. : : Lt. Shadowflower, CMO “There’s been nothing that I’ve noticed,” Harry replied, “I have no known allergies. I am getting on fine with the new Retnax prescription.” Medically speaking, Harry was unimpressive. Couple of broken bones as a teenager, no major illness or disorders. The only thing of note was his eyesight. At his last evaluation, the doctor at the Academy had ammended the prescription to take account for a slight change in Harry’s sight. He looked around the windowless sickbay. “You know they said ‘Join Starfleet… See the stars!..’ Clearly who-ever came up with that recruitment ad wasn’t a doctor,” he said light heartedly. -Harry

After a few moments of awkward silence, Harry spoke again. “Well that killed the conversation. You heard that one before?”

Harry began to wonder if the CMO had heard him. He tried to catch a glance at the tricorder display unit to see if it indicated a problem with his vocal chords. He couldn’t see.

He began to wonder if he hadn’t actually vocalised his thoughts…
