USS Constellation
Awaiting Guests - Evagen
Ki’Jalla shuffled to the front of the room and bowed his head in preparation. Aaliyah gently smoothed her auburn hair as she took a seat on the front row. She had been busy all afternoon and to be honest was just ready for a nap now but for some reason the resort owner had called a staff meeting. She audibly yawned but then noticed the chef, Oli, looking at her from across the room. She instantly perked up and threw a quick wink at him as she sat up straight and turned her attention to Ki’Jalla.
Before he could speak, Justin came bustling in, dressed all in white linen holding a fan. “So sorry I’m late, I was just having the most incredible time in the pool, the water is so amazing today, and the sunshine is creating the most beautiful patterns on the water. I stopped on my way back to take in the sights of the garden and you know, I never noticed…” Aaliyah groaned as Justin rambled on, something which he was well known for although he seemed even more jolly than usual today. Ki’Jalla stood to attention in front of his staff.
“The Grand Creator began all things…” his voiced boomed throughout the room, cutting Justin’s story off as he dutifully took his seat. Aaliyah winked at the handsome fellow next to her and leaned across an empty seat in between them. “I’m always up for getting things started…” she whispered quietly.
Out of nowhere, Justin appeared and plonked himself down in the seat between them. “Super! I hope this is as amazing as our last staff meeting, that was the best ever!” he squeaked with an air of excitement in his voice. Ki’Jalla gave a puzzled look towards Justin who quietened down again.
“Armand, at the tavern, on the way to Pau’ri…” Ki’Jalla continued in true Tamarian fashion. The staff at Evagen had had real trouble understanding him to start with but most of the time now they got the general gist of it. Justin bounced eagerly in his seat. “Amazing! I love meeting new people! I bet they are friendly, ooh, and interesting, I bet they’re interesting aren’t they?” he squealed, like an excited school child. Aaliyah ignored Justin and leant over to talk to the handsome man again. “Well I hope they are coming to have a bit of fun, I’d love to show them all the facilities and benefits we have to offer…” she grinned as Justin excitedly tapped her on the arm. “That’s super, I reckon you’ll be amazing at that Aaliyah!”
Aaliyah ignored him but stroked her hair as Ki’Jalla spoke again. “Lokar and Arjan at the waterfall of Tigal. Jenai, when the rains came…” from across the other side of the room Oli nodded. “You got it skipper, I’ll slap up a grand feast for our guests…” Justin jumped up and put his hand up. “Can I help chef? I would love to help you chef, that would be the best thing ever!” Oli looked a little disturbed but reluctantly nodded. Aaliyah chuckled. “I helped chef earlier…he was very appreciative…”
Ki’Jalla nodded and stood to attention. “Elah and Doka’th in agreement, Tokar, his kingdom prepared…” he finished as he gestured for his staff to go and make preparations for the Constellation’s arrival. As they exited, Justin picked up a feather duster. “Yay! Cleaning, I just love cleaning!”
From a vantage point perched on a windowsill high above the staff meeting, Lakirum smiled and gave a quick chuckle. “Oh yes, this is going to be fun…” he laughed as he swooped across the ceiling and through the wall.
