Sitting in his ready room, Rujo tapped his combadge and opened a channel to Dr Shadowflower.

Aurora looked up from the padd she had been reading as the captain’s voice gave way to the science in her office. With a slight agitation in her voice she replied “on my way!”

She picked up the other padd that was on her desk and made her way out of sickbay. Once she entered the lift she took a moment to calm her self. Out of the entire crew almost everyone had had their annual physical, all but one.

She stepped out of the turbo lift and made her way to the captain’s ready room. She didn’t want to but if push came to shove she would have no other choice.

Was she angry with him? Rujo wondered. He was avoiding the physical, but there was a perfectly logical reason for it, which involved a potato, a butterfly and a tricorder.

Why would she be angry with him? Rujo wondered. That drunken party in 2392? Had she been in attendance? Had he acted inappropriately towards her? He thought he was the only human in attendance at it, that there were deltans, betazoids, klingons and bajorans in attendance, but no other humans. Besides, he was designated pilot after that event and he was stone cold sober.

Rujo got up and walked to the door to his ready room, it opened as soon as he approached, and he saw Dr Shadowflower standing there.

“You brought the details I asked for? Thanks Doctor, please come in and take a seat,” Rujo said to her without preamble.

Once they were both in and sitting, he said, “now then, who hasn’t had their physical yet?”
