As the Lt. came to the bridge to work he sat at his station awaiting orders. He sits there doing his normal way of working. He sits there and touches his buttons on his console. As he is doing that he doesn’t notice anything unusual about anything.

Lt. Slayer

Brenna had pulled bridge duty for the current shift. Geri and Fekri were laying, heads on front paws, on either side of the command chair. She turned in the chair to look to see who had arrived. “Lt Slayer. How is everything with the science department this week?”

Lt Cmdr Atoded, 2O

“Oh hey. The science department is going well commander. Thank you for asking. How about for you since you’re 2nd Officer and Chief Of Pets?” He asked Brenna. “But also the science department has been slow. Some of my people have been slacking in the labs lately and I don’t understand why. Do you mind looking into it for me commander?” He said as he looked a little down.

Lt. Slayer

“Things are going well, thank you Lt.” Brenna reached down and patted Geri on the head. “Have you thought of rotating lab assignments and shifts? Sometimes that helps when boredom sets in.”
Lt Cmdr Atoded, 2O

“Well yes I was thinking about that. But I’d like to have some extra help with that. I’m doing all that in my quarters if you’d like to come by and help me out little later tonight. That is if you’d like to commander.” He said to Brenna.

Lt. Slayer

Atoded nodded, “I would be happy to help you do that. How about your office tomorrow at 0900? I have a full night of duty shift. I would also suggest you speak to Lt Cmdr Marsh, the XO. That is one of his responsibilities, to assist the DHs with scheduling and personnel issues. If you have having behavior issues out of your staff I would also recommend you speak to Lt Eleyr, the CNS.”

Lt Cmdr Atoded, 2O

“Of course commander,” as he nodded “I was wanting to see if you and the XO could both be there. The behavior issues from my staff isn’t it. It’s just that they are just bored and they have no idea what they need to do.” As he smiled at her. When she said to him at 0900 his office it made him think that it’ll work out very well for him.

Lt. Slayer

“I am sure Cmdr Marsh is willing to help. I am not sure he is available at the same time. I am not privy to his schedule.”

Lt Cmdr Atoded, 2O

“I mean if he can’t make it then that is okay. But with you there to help me, it would make it so I feel more comfortable with it. You know what I mean. Since you of course are a DH yourself you don’t do as much as the rest of us. Which I get it. I’m not criticizing how you run your department or anything. I’m just grateful that I have a friend who is willing to come by and help out.” He said with a smile.

Lt. Slayer

Brenna rose from the center seat to get a good look at him. “It’s a good thing I’m Betazoid and telepathic, jr Lt Slayer, or I could have easily misinterpreted your words. Just because I have a small department doesn’t mean we don’t stay busy.” Not to mention her duties as second officer. “But all of the command and senior staff are here to help each other. So make sure you have all of her schedules and lab reports and personnel files ready for tomorrow.”
