USS Constellation
Pierce's Quarters
“Leticia, what are you doing?” Katherine looked blearily at her daughter, who was in the middle of taking the cover off the replicator unit in their quarters.
“Just messing around,” her daughter answered, a little sullen. “There’s nobody on this ship to play with! You promised me this ship would be different!”
“Well, I hoped you might make some friends, true, but I never actually.... Hey, I said stop doing that!”
“No you didn’t, you just asked what I was doing!” Leticia continued to pry off the casing, until Kat grabbed her arm.
“Well I’m telling you to stop now. I don’t want to spend six hours putting the replicator back together, okay? It’s bad enough you keep taking apart other pieces of equipment.”
Leticia huffed. “You never let me have no fun!” she insisted, before storming off to her bed.
Kat sighed to herself, and started to reattach the casing on the replicator. She loved her daughter, dearly, but sometimes she wondered if she couldn’t have gotten a poodle instead.
