The time of the party was quickly approaching and so Brenna was making the rounds of the departments to see how they were progressing with their plans. She entered the security offices and tagged an NE, “Who is in charge of your party preparations?”

Focus: When one species is food to another, the seating chart gets…complicated. But you’ve got it all under control, managing curious customs and watching out for who is toxic to whom.

“Lt. Burcham is heading that.” The NE responded and pointed to Lt. Burcham’s office, where his door was open.

Lt. Burcham stood at the doorway and received the information. “Thank you LT. Cmdr.” he responded and then sat at his desk and started working on the list.

“You’re welcome Lt. If there is anything I can do to help you, please let me know. I was a counselor in a past life before command got this crazy idea to require entire crews to have pets.” She said it with a laugh at herself. “It leaves me with flexibility to help if I’m needed.” She didn’t want to get in his way either.

“Well, we know that the Romulans and Vulcans should be kept from each other. Those two species act like scorned siblings when in the same room. Ferengi will need to be watched that they don’t try to make a “profit” from anyone unknowing who they are, and what they are about…” he chuckled before continuing. “I’m not sure they are truly peaceful together, so we might need to make sure Andorians and Klingons don’t meet with each other for long periods of time, actually, knowing the Klingons, they probably shouldn’t mingle with anyone longer than necessary. One misunderstood statement and honor is challenged over dessert. So, far that’s the only issues I see with the collection coming.” He finished, looking up from the list to Lt. Cmdr. Atoded.

Brenna looked over the list again, “The Ferengi will need watching.” She agreed. “Hmmm…I might be able to get the dogs to monitor their behaviors, and alert if something isn’t right. I don’t think there is anyone safe to put the Ferengi near…Oh what about between the Tellarites and Zaldans? They won’t put up with anything.”

“That works for me. The dogs we have trained, including Ellie, will help a lot keeping things in order.” LT. Burcham answered.

Atoded nodded, “Works for me. Some of the animals are sensitive to differing sound waves. Might be worth having them around to see if anyone is sending signals we aren’t aware of. Hmmm maybe some small examples of our animals and their habitats? It is one of the reasons Constellation was chosen.”

“That would be amazing. Accomplishes the goal of keeping everything safe during the party, and we are utilizing the pets like Starfleet wants. It should be a win-win.” LT. Burcham responded.
