Dum and Dee were in Engineering, checking the schematics, the readouts, the systems, the energy levels, everything that needed to be checked to make sure they were all running smoothly and within safety parameters. Starships had many moving parts, and those moving parts needed to be in motion, or else they’d breakdown and the starship would no longer be moving.

“So, Dee, ready for this?” Dum was half in and half out of a terminal, with a tricorder in one appendage and a hydrospanner in the other.

“Do it, Dum,” Dee said, reading the monitor.

It was the dilithium manifold converter and unless it was repaired, they wouldn’t be going anywhere … the last thing they needed at this point was a photon torpedo to be fired …

It was of course at about this time that Jessie was in sickbay, Chuckles was telling his story and science was looking out at a giant hand.
