“I would, but…” Harry said indicating to the blue ‘spray on’ gloves he was wearing, “I don’t think you wanna catch that.”

An engineering crewman chuckled in the corner while checking a console at the Ensigns expense.

Peter’s glance caught the engineers and he grinned and winked in response to the other man’s laugh.

“Take a seat at the bio bed over there, I’ll be with you in a minute,” Harry replied, “With a clean pair of gloves on.”

“Sure, doc.” Peter said affably as he made his way over to the indicated biobed and hitched himself up onto it. He sat quietly and watched the hustle and bustle of sickbay around him. Familiarizing himself with the faces of the crewmen he was seeing. He would eventually have names to go with them, either through introduction or files due to carrying out his duties.

After just a few moments, the red-haired doctor approached. In one hand he had a small spray on can which he used first on one hand, then to the other, turning them blue once more with the ‘gloves’

“So do you have any medical conditions or allergies that I should be aware of before I begin?” Harry asked.

-Harry

Peter laughed,” No physical condition unless you count a love of extreme sports. I have had a number of injuries due to some of my mishaps. As for allergies, I do tend to react some to planet side allergens such as pollen. Perfectly controllable though if I take antihistamines before heading down.” Upon scans Harry would indeed see quite a few healed broken bones, etc. The injuries were fairly consistent with such activities as rock climbing, hang gliding, cliff diving, etc.

“No sexual relations with Klingons?” Harry asked for clarification as the tricorder automatically recorded Peter’s details into his record.

-Harry

Peter blinked in surprise,” Ah…no. Can’t say I have ever participated in sports that extreme.” He grinned as he sat patiently as the doctor continued with his exam.

“You should try it sometime,” Harry replied with slight smirk on his face. The tricorder continued to hum and whislted as the data consistant with Peter’s activities were added and correlated with the records of medical treatments.

“Well the tricorder suggests everything is fine, how are you feeling?” Harry asked.

Cross chuckled, “I am feeling fine and very fit. I can tell you that serving aboard the Ogawa we had physical checkups a lot more then what is required on a normal ship but that is due to the nature of the missions she undertakes.” Cross paused for a moment before daring to ask a question.
“Doc, can I ask you something? This ship seems a bit....unusual. Have you noticed that?”
