Others stepped into sickbay with trepidation, or anxiety, not Ridge. He stepped into Sickbay like he was stepping onto a yacht, a toss of his silky brown hair, that flowed in ringlets passed his shoulders, and the beard any executive officer worth their salt envied.A chiseled physique, exquisitely tailored uniform, all in a cute little four foot tall package. It was as if someone took the galaxies sexiest man and shrunk him in the wash. Even the trill spots were perfectly symmetrical as the ran from his temples under the beard to below his collar. Ridge surveyed sickbay with bright aquamarine eyes, as he strolled in with a level of arrogance few could match. Especially since no one had been in the hallway to see him have to jump three times to get the door to recognize his presence.
Lieutenant Ridge Parvenu
Noticing the man jumping, Harry paused in front of him. “Nurse, this gentleman appears to have a spring stuck somewhere…” he said to attract the attention of one of the nurses. He turned back to the hobbit-sized Lieutenant, “Don’t tell me. You were doing some DIY whilst naked. Slipped and fell off a ladder and landed right on it. If I had a slip of gold pressed latinum everytime I heard that one, I wouldn’t be here.”
-Harry
Ridge look perplexed, but apparently the doctor could see through the duranium doors. “What are you....ummm never mind, No, emphatically no, I just need a medical check-in Ensign”
Lieutenant Ridge Parvenu
“Are you sure? How come I saw you on the monitor bouncing like a tigger?” Harry asked.
-Harry
Ahhh monitors not super powers always a mundane explanation, that calmed the operations chief morevthan a little. “Well I am short sometimes I have to jump to get the sensors to realize I am there.”
Lieutenant Ridge Parvenu
“Well, that problem will go away as soon as you’re registered on the computer as fit for duty, because they’ll also detect your comm badge, Please come this way,” he said. He led the short lieutenant through the main sickbay to an area where the facilities where smaller. The biobed was the right height for him to get on and were he to have laid down, would have been just the right size for him. Judging by the decor, this space was not a ‘children’s hospital’ but was specifically designed for adults that were short. On one of the beds opposite a Ferengi laid motionless staring at the ceiling.
“Don’t worry about him, he’s fine,” Harry said, “When he thought he was going to die, he pre-sold his vacuum desiccated disks… for a loss. Turns out he just has a severe case of clinomania.”
“Anyway, back to you. Do you have any medical conditions or allergies that I should be aware of?” he asked.
-Simons
Ridge barked a laugh, “Well a loss is a loss, but umm well not really, the complications of Dwarfism, so arthritic joints, and occassional headaches from being knocked over by regular folk that don’t look down. As well I have the joys of being a joined Trill, and well diet exercise, etc” Ridge hadn’t added that the Symbiote had been last hosted by Vice Admiral Glayne Parvenu of Starfleet Intelligence, and his father so it was also secretive, cranky, generally critical, and slightly disappointed. “As the Chief of Operations, get hand cramps and eye strain from bean counting.”
Lt Ridge Parvenu, COO
“The Symbiosis Commission are very particular about who get’s to host, and they’re not known for being the most open minded group on Trill. I guess the symbiote want to see life from a different perspective,” Harry replied. He paused briefly, realising how what he had said may be mis-understood, “Not from a… Physical… sense ofcourse.”
