OOC: Not sure if this is a part of the Main Sim or a Side Sim but regardless, this is Reira coming back. I was also adding the shuttle in case the GM wanted more off-ship missions.IC: “Come on, where are you reserve power…” The purple-haired ex-Drone muttered to himself, tapping at the controls of his small vessel still inside the cargo bay starship. The weapons of his shuttle could blast the forcefield down, he’d made a few upgrades to his shuttlecraft. Reira had bought it off a Ferengi Trader who wanted some of his nanoprobes which caused trouble because Reira self-destructed them once he was out of the system. A few thousand Borg Nanoprobes were more valuable than a 7 year old shuttlecraft. The state of the ship was also questionable, he had to make a lot of repairs and upgrades, he even renamed it. It was just a ship, but for Reira Akaba it had been his home for quite a while.
Those black uniforms made his skin crawl, the men began issuing their demands that he surrender. Normally he’d feel bad about this but they were the worst of humanity, traitors and murderers and conspirators. Firing his weapon, the forcefield ruptured and those still in the cargo bay were ejected into space. Firing the impulse engines, he soon switched to transwarp and was off. The question was, his destination. Where the hell would he be safe, he needed to lie low. His vessel was damaged and his escape had left him badly hurt in a way that neither nanoprobes nor the medical kit could fix… Where else would he go? Finding the co-ordinates in the database, Reira adjusted course and put the throttle to maximum as he coughed hard, scarlet blood dripping onto the floor. All the ex-Drone had was his soul and his technology and once upon a time, that was enough.
“Captain… We were unable to apprehend the prisoner, he escaped. But he is injured?” The Security Officer sounded fearful, almost terrified as his superior stood up to his full height and stared down at him like an angry parent. “I suggest, Lieutenant DeLaurio… That if you don’t want to be dropped down to Ensign, that you come up with a strategy to recapture him and fast. I do not tolerate incompetence on my vessel.” Those same dark blue eyes Reira had burned into the Italian Officer who nodded and walked away as fast as possible. The captain of the ressing a button in the armrest of the chair, he waited for an answer. “Science Laboratory, begin scanning for a recently activated Transwarp Conduit, once you find the conduit, set course for it.” Taking a deep breath as the rage inside simmered down, he stared at the blank viewscreen with anger simmering in the indigo staring back at him. “Understood, scans commencing.” The Chief Science Officer replied. “You might have escaped for now… But I’ll always make sure you come back to me, Reira.”
It had been about 3 hours… Reluctantly taking another bite of the rations bar, Reira stared at the readout on the screen. “I forget how fast you are sometimes.” Patting the tritanium plating affectionately, he slowly exited transwarp since doing it too quickly or too harshly would cause feedback in the coils. Powering down weapons and turning off the shields, he stared through the window at the Viking. He wasn’t sure if he’d see her again and his stomach had butterflies in it again. That weird mix of nostalgia and fear was setting in. Hovering over the hail button, the drone opened a channel. “This is the Amaterasu calling USS Viking, this is Ensign Reira Akaba speaking. I’m requesting permission to board.” He asked calmly, hoping someone might recognize him.
To the sensors on the Viking, the shuttlecraft would register as an SC-4 Type that had been altered by Borg technology, indicated by the vessel having a transwarp signature and visually by the fact that the warp nacelles glowed green instead of red and blue and although the hull was predominantely Starfleet Standard, sections of it were taken over by Borg hull plating. Many of the systems had been upgraded or replaced entirely, the shield generator had turned into an adaptive shield matrix and the warp core had turned into 3 transwarp coils. For a shuttle, it was surprisingly heavily armed with 6 phaser banks and 4 torpedo launchers. Whatever Reira had been doing, he’d clearly been expecting a fight and the damage to the hull was proof, it still had phaser burns on it.

Kristi was in the shuttle bay doing inventory when the call came thru. As clearance was granted, she moved to the console to see what shuttle was missing. Frowning as she looked up the name, she then looked up the scanned specs the Viking had just taken for verification. Hearing the call go out to security, she nodded in agreement. Borg tech rarely meant anything good. She pulled a phaser from the security locker in the upper deck and came down to await the arrival of both security and the newcomer. She was unfamiliar with Akaba, but guessed he was ‘good people’ because he was given clearance.
Her tight 200 pound, five foot eleven inch frame made her look capable while still holding a feminine outline. And her hazel green eyes frowned slightly framed with brunette hair as the shuttle arrived and Akaba caught sight of her. Her weapon was at her side, but obviously ready if anything went sideways. She tapped out the code to lock down the bay, knowing security could override it to enter, but their guest couldn’t override it to leave.

Opening up the hatch on his ship, Reira put his own sidearm away before walking out onto the deck of the Cargo Bay, scanning his surroundings. Still the same, familiar ship he remembered. The Ensign was wearing a tactical uniform with armor plating and had an unknown firearm strapped to his good hip on the left side. The right side of his suit was soaked with blood as he coughed into his hand, walking over to the control console to leave when he saw it was locked down. “I need urgent medical assistance. Open the door.” He stated, looking over at Kristi as his breathing became shallower and harsher. That explosion had broken his rib, it punctured his lung.
His own hair was a pale shade of lilac, his eyes a dark inidigo as he slammed at the controls, impatient and trying to remain standing despite the pain he was in. “Your amygdala is in a state of hyperactivation. Do not be frightened, I have not come here to harm you.” He was used to it but also sick of it. The stares, the fear… People thinking he was going to assimilate or harm them. It was a reaction he had come to expect from most…
