The ion storm was becoming a pest but the Viking could weather that. Alternate spectrum visuals showed waves like that of a hurricane approaching. At the moment they were in the first outer rings - wave fronts of the storm were passing through like hugely wide waves on a seashore. One just passed and they were ‘between’ waves at the moment - where they noted the shuttle just emerging from the planet’s atmosphere. It had taken a hit and her power was considerably reduced and limping toward the Viking.

In his chair on the bridge of the USS Viking, McKenzie was about to issue the requested orders, but then before he could give them, a second voice was heard.

Almost immediately the voice of the Intelligence officer came. =^=Belay that Viking. We’ll use the shuttles transporters=^=

“Can we extend our shields around the shuttle,” he asked the officer at either an engineering, science or even the security station on the bridge.

=/\= Bridge to Engineering, the away team is returning, the shuttle is limping back, prepare to receive it and analyse the damage done. =/\= McKenzie said, and then to Sickbay =/\= Prepare for patients and the Doctor from the away team, they are arriving shortly via transporter. =/\=
