Once again, Nevin found himself stood in the silence of his CO’s ready room. The name plate on the desk was different. The circumstances were different too. At least he knew where Ravenfall was, unlike Nakuto who had dissapeared into thin air without a trace. Part of Nevin felt guilty wishing the office was his own on a permanent basis, but there was no doubt his use of the space was temporary. If SEAI worked her magic, then Ravenfall would be back and could walk through the door at any moment. If Ravenfall’s condition was more serious, she would be the second CO in a row that Nevin had failed to protect and he was unlikely to be offered a command of his own.

“Redecorating already?” The soft baritone of the Chief Intelligence Officer came from behind the Young Bajoran. It seemed he had somehow entered the room without the door making its usual swishing sound. The large man was leaning against a wall.
