“The Ensign believed that opening fire was putting the crew at risk and attempted to cut power to weapons. This is after both Commander Akorem and Chief Stone gave the go-ahead to open fire and our systems were clear of any AI influence. I admit my first reactions were…” He hesitated still not showing any sense of emotion “Overly aggressive. After the Ensign shoved me out of the way and stated that she would not recognize my authority I suspended her authorizations and had her escorted off the bridge.” He paused again and took a second to consider his next words clearly “The ensign attempted to hit me, I avoided the blow and allowed her to go to her quarters without an escort in an effort to de-escalate the situation” He took a moment to drink from his cup before finishing “I bring this forth on this meeting to get your reactions and opinions. My full and detailed report is in the system but flagged. I fully expect the Ensign to file a formal complaint but I fear that in doing so she may put her career at risk.” He leaned forward in his chair. “First if I may, Lieutenant Stone, what is your opinion of this seeing as she is one of yours”

Glancing between the CIO and Lieutenant Stone, Beveres considered the event at hand. Well, from a far more psychological standpoint than the others might have approached it. She could see both sides of the coin, choosing to file a complaint albeit risking her career as an officer, or keeping quiet and never getting the restitution the young Ensign might believe she deserved. Both were equally damaging to the psyche, but she hoped the woman could make a proper choice. However, she could not say she was fully against what had happened, either. An active pacifist, she saw no reason for malice, but his methods could have been described as a type of self defense, if placed into that light. After all, Strenvale had possessed an offensive nature, resulting in plausible retaliation. With that being said, her mind could have easily reacted to his immediate suspension as a type of threat, triggering the flight-or-fight mode of her brain. It was a precarious position, one which she considered but chose to keep quiet, as this was between the CIO, Stone and the XO.

The door swished open and the familiar form of SEAI entered, “I would apologize for the fact that I am late, but you all know that I would not be late without a very good reason.” She sat down at the table, her eyes roaming over everyone in the room, those who knew her could probably guess that she was doing a scan of everyone in the room, checking their blood pressure, heart rate, and other bodily functions. Ever since she had returned, sickbay had been returned to full efficiency under the threat of a Battle of Wolf 359 simulation (She had used that before when people started to get too lax), and the grumbles of her ‘methods’ had slowly started to return. A padd was pulled out of one of her lab coat pockets and was tossed onto the table in front of the XO, “An update on the Captain’s condition, and a log of my latest findings. A good read if you have some spare time.”

Upon noticing some of the glances she waved her hand and spoke, “Yes I am aware of the fact that you were in the middle of a conversation when I entered, but as I know that this is going to go nowhere, I thought that I would get the important bits out of the way before this conversation devolves into petty threats.”

Peter simply raised an eyebrow at the Androids comment. He wondered what it meant by petty threats as it had no idea what they had been discussing.

OOC: There’s a little bug on our rooster page with ranks. I’m listed as ensign there while Strenvale is lieutenant.

“Ok, back to the issue with Strenvale.” Mike spoke up. He was actualy glad of the interuption, since it was a hard issue to answer and it gave him a few more moments to think.

“She was indeed correct. I was down there on the research station, and Viking did quite a bit of damage. Luckily the kids were all saved. It was also at the moment the only good way for USS Viking to help us with distracting the AI. If we had more time I’m sure we could find a better way, but unfortunately timing had to be perfect. As it is I’d almost recomend her for a promotion. But resorting to violance, disobaying orders....If it’s all the same to you, I’d file this incident together with CO’s health issues and simply forget about it. Ensign Strenvale is a good engineer. She definately doesn’t deserve a stain in her records already.”

It was a crazy plan and there was a lot of luck involved that it worked. Easily it could have all gone south.

“My orders were for a targeted and tactical strike, in order to distract the AI,” Nevin stated. He was sure he didn’t need to vocalise the question about whether the strike launched put the away team in unnecessary danger.

He was also vaguely aware of Mike’s request to not put a blemish on Strenvale’s record. “Under who’se authority was Strensvale acting on the bridge?” Nevin asked.

Peter leaned forward, crossing his large fingers “No official orders were filed but there hasn’t been an official investigation” He turned to the Engineering Chief “Deserving isn’t the point Chief. Your junior officer attempted to assault me after disobeying orders. If I hadn’t dodged her attack I’d be in Sickbay right now recovering from a broken Sternum, that is if it hadn’t killed me” He spoke more sternly “I’m not fond of court-martialing someone for having a temper but there need to be repercussions for this. This isn’t a Klingon vessel where fights are common, even in my private days we never allowed fights to go unpunished.” He took a gander over the Senior Officers present opening the floor for furhter discussion.

“I agree with that compleately. I only wanted to say, that we should keep this behind Viking’s walls for now. Should it happen again however.... Strenvale will need to worry about me more then any courtmartial.” Mike said.
