At a slow time on the bridge when ‘Glass Eye’ Lieutenant Col Umbo found itself in the Command Chair, and ‘Weird’ Ensign Kern Almarch at the communications post, a message came in, priority one. Glass Eye cleared its throat and said to Kern, “Ensign Almarch, put that up on the main viewer.”

=/\= This is the USS Viking, Glass Eye Col Umbo speaking, =/\= Col Umbo said, then gulped at the glare he received from the stern-looking Fleet Captain at the other end of the com call.

=/\= Glass Eye is not an approved rank, Ensign =/\= the Fleet Captain snapped.

=/\= I am a Lieutenant, Sir, =/\= Col said, with a further gulp.

=/\= Would you like to be a 1st year Cadet again? =/\= the Fleet Captain asked, =/\= I CAN arrange that for you. =/\=

=/\= No, Fleet Captain, Sir, I am happy as a Lieutenant, =/\= Col assured the Fleet Captain and then saluted him.

=/\= Very good Lieutenant, we might make an officer out of you yet, =/\= the Fleet Captain replied.

=/\= Thank you, Fleet Captain, Sir, I will try my best =/\= Col said, =/\= How can I assist you today, Sir, we are, as they say, at your disposal. =/\=

• At your disposal, sounds like he’s a garbage collector and we’re the garbage. * was a typed message received by Col from Kern.

=/\= I would be most appreciative if you could arrange my call to be put through to Captain Ravenfall. =/\= the Fleet Captain answered.

=/\= Of course, Fleet Captain, Sir =/\= Col replied, “Ensign Almarch, would you put that call through to the Captain, please?”

“Aye Aye, Lieutenant Umbo,” Kern answered and then let his fingers dance over his console as he put the call through to the current location of the Captain.

=/\= Captain Ravenfall, you have a Priority One Call from a Fleet Captain, putting it through now, Ma’am, =/\= Kern said.

As the camera faded on that scene on the bridge, Kern looked at Col and said, “you put you foot in it that time, Glass Eye.”

Col replied, “I know, Weird, I know.”

Once Viktoryia opened the call, she would recognise the Fleet Captain as Don Iron Fist Jerald, someone from her past.

=/\= Captain Ravenfall, you are looking like your usual self! How are things? Not too many creaks and bumps, I hope? =/\= Was he asking for a health report on her or the ship? Viktoryia would have to decide for herself.

Vicktoryia had been in her officer trying to deal will the crew manifest when the call had came in. She was unsure why for every two new officers she recieved three more dissapeared. She rubbed her eyes for only a moment before answering the call.

When the fleet admrial appeared on her screen she couldn’t help but let a grin. “It depends if you wanna go head to head with me again” she said as a soft chuckle.
She took a drink from the cup that sat in front of her and let her thought wonder back to her third year in the academy.

He is amphibious and has special needs for his environment, particularly during his sleep cycle. Water is being transported to your ship now as we speak, special water from his planet. Your engineering staff should be able to set it up successfully in his quarters, it is essentially what would be referred to as a fish tank. If he doesn’t return to it regularly, he loses most of his abilities that would be of help to you, Captain. Your new XO has the name of McKenzie Curry III. His Grandfather is the current ruler of the world, while his father is the Atalanian Ambassador to the Federation. He should be arriving in the next day or two, the water and its container will arrive first, allowing enough time for your engineers to install it. The specs should be received now. =/\=

Sure enough, the specs had arrived as promised.
