“Please, take a seat. This lounge,” he said waving to indicate the busy room in which they were sat, “Is your off duty space. I don’t give orders here.”
This was true, partly because Nevin didn’t visit the lounge. The crew needed their space to socialise and relax without the command staff around and Nevin respected that.

Peter smiled “Don’t worry, son. You’ll get used to that feeling” He turned again to the winged Ensign “There are very few things I fear direcly now a-days. My first few years of service were spent fighting the Jem-Ha’dar, probably the most fearsome warrior race in the galaxy, after them I find it very difficult to be afeared of anything.”

“Sir?” Tanis said a bit confused by the officer’s comment. As he took a drink. And started looking over his meal briefly as he waited for better understanding.

“I was answering the young Ensigns question” Peter said with a halfsmile.

“ are you two telepaths or sumthing? “ Luna asked watching them carfuly. Crenity pulled one of Luna’s feathered out. Witch earnd a saprised squeak from the ensign. She then set the child on the floor to play again. The child giggled opend wings and flames them hard taking flight again. She dropped the feather on the Docters head, and stayed close to the group of adults. Hopefully they would get a few moments of pice. Luna glared at the child who was not at all bothered. “ I think what the LT was trying to say is that there are quite a few people on the ship how are afraid of doctors “ Luna finly said.

Tanis was smacked at the realization after Ensign Luna pointed thing out along with the other crew he blushed a bright red it was the first time he had blushed so har ar the fact of not understanding. As he listened to the others that started speaking.

“An irrational fear that I have never understood,” Nevin commented, “It’s nothing personal, doctor. Before my posting on the Viking I was on your side of the coin.”

“ no every ones fear is irrational, and I know there was something about you that made me nervous. It’s ok I trust you now camander , So Tanis where are you from? “ Luna asked smiling at him.

Tanis finally spoke again. “Thank you, Ensign Luna, for helping me in clarifying what was said.” He said with a soft smile now as the blush in his cheeks receded. “And your quite right Doctor I understand. I do agree that there are some that rather jump off a bridge then rather than to see or be seen by a doctor but other are a bit milder thank goodness.” Tanis said calmly. “I am from Betazed.”He said with a small smile. “Where all of your from?” Tanis asked casually.

“I’m from Jalanda, on Bajor,” Nevin replied refering to where he had grown up. In truth, he didn’t know which part of Bajor he was originally from and the records around the time of his birth were somewhat sketchy. He didn’t even know when his birthday was. The Federation & Cardassian records had different, and the Bajoran records available from during the occupation showed that his parents & sister had been killed before he was born. Nevin knew that this could not be true. He had a vague childhood memory of his biological parents. Just an image from a toddler’s perspective.

“It wasn’t much, but it was home,” Nevin replied. He found himself wonderring what Antos would respond with when he was older. Nevin’s son had only ever lived on Starships. The Olympic, The Semmelweiss, The Asimov, The Atlantis, The Forrester, The Dresden and now The Viking. Where was his son’s home?

Nevin didn’t voice this particular thought but was aware that the Betazoid would sense the uncertainty of his answer.

“Is it nice there Bajor I mean? I Never been there? Sir!” Tanis asked casually. noticing that there was some uncertainty there. But was not sure if it was related to his Bajor comment or something else. But he was not going to pursue it right now. “If the Officer wanted to go further with his answer he could when he wanted too.

Luna Lisoned quietly to the conversation. She did not want to think about her past anymore today. In fact she felt a little anxious about the question. She did not know how to answer the question without tasing his saspitions.

“Earth, small Island in the northern Atlantic,” Peter said briefly, it had been years since he’d been back home. Maybe it was time to go visit soon. “Jalanda is lovely this time of year, They have an excellent regional Springwine there that goes great with seafood,” Peter said knowingly before looking at the Commander “I spent some time on Bajor after the war, found an Island there that reminded me a lot of home.” He turned to the doctor “From where on Betazed are you from?”

Jalanda, like any other city had its afluent areas and also its more run down areas. Peter’s experience was clearly different to Nevin’s. He didn’t comment as he waited for Tanis’ response.
