Brion narrowed her eyes in annoyance at her fellow doctor. “I think that’s a little premature don’t you doctor?” she replied as she looked back towards the morgue area where she had been about to start Captain Ries’ autopsy when Nirim had been brought in. She beckoned over Nurse Bright to come and join them. “Dr Stein, I think I have things covered here, could you start the autopsy on Captain Ries? Nurse Bright here will show you where everything is.” she indicated across to the morgue, mainly just wanting to get rid of the somewhat callous doctor and focus on her friend.

Stein considered this for a while then agreed. “Yes pathology is definitely my strong suit.” He looked back towards Beveres to get her concurrence then followed Brion off to the morgue. (OOC: And presumably a new thread?)

Dr. Stein
CMO

OOC: Not a new thread, you won’t be there long… ;)

IC: Brion breathed a sigh of relief as the troublesome doctor was led out of the room. As the doors to the morgue closed behind them, Brion went back to join Beveres and Nirim. As Lazoh sat staring blankly into space, Brion pulled Beveres to one side again. “Ok, I don’t know what the hell is going on here but that is not Nirim…” she whispered, keeping one eye on the intruder posing as her friend.

“No, they’re not. But we need to maintain the facade of believing that that are. Otherwise, they could grow defensive and hostile.” Beveres kept her voice hushed, shaking her head. “I know this is difficult, but we have to approach this with extreme caution.”

As the doctor spoke, Nirim turned slowly, sensing that they were not buying it any longer. She stood and strode across the room to join them with a look of disdain on her face. “We will not answer any more of your questions…” she said simply, keeping an icy stare on them. Brion stepped forward with a nervous gulp and gently placed her hand on Nirim’s arm. “We just want to make sure you’re alright Nirim…” she said cautiously, somewhat out of her comfort zone.

Nirim glanced down at the hand on her arm then back at the doctor with a look of anger in her eyes. In a flash, she grabbed the doctor’s arm and twisted it violently, smiling as a sickening crack echoed through sickbay and Brion screamed in pain as she hit the deck, cradling her arm.

Beveres was caught between detaining Nirim or going to Brion. In a split second, she chose the latter. Rushing to Brion’s side, she knelt down, wrapping her arms around her to try and lift Brion into a sitting position so she wasn’t as vulnerable. “Nirim,” She tried to keep the counselor’s attention, “why did you hurt her? She is your friend.”

Nirim blinked a couple of times as though she didn’t understand the question at first before looking back at Beveres. “Because she was interfering…” she said with no emotion behind her voice at all.

As Nurse Bright began pulling the slab out in the morgue, she jumped at the scream and looked back towards the main sickbay in shock, pushing the slab back, she grabbed Stein’s arm. “That sounded like the doc!” she exclaimed as she pulled him back through the door into sickbay.

“Doctor Stein!” Beveres called out, catching a glimpse of the nurse coming through the sickbay doors. “Nurse, do you have security on standby?” She glanced out of the corner of her eye at Nirim, “Just in case?” If possible, Beveres knew they needed to have Nirim restrained. Whoever..whatever had taken over was dangerous.

Beveres, CNS

Nurse Bright nodded as she tapped her comm badge. =/\= Sickbay to security your presence is needed urgently in sickbay! =/\= she squeaked, the fear evident in her voice.

A rapid response came back. =/\= Jacquard here, we’re on our way. =/\= the COS replied.

Stein, pulled out by the nurse’s firm grasp didn’t have time to shuffle and almost fell out of the morgue on his face, but when he heard Beveres call out he quickly regained his senses. “Benzoylmethylecgonine,” he ordered Nurse Bright. “In a hypospray.” He turned and glanced down at Brion and locked his jaw before looking at Nirim. “Don’t give it to him. The hypospray is for me.”

The young nurse having regained a bit of composure, quickly mixed the vial as requested and dashed back, her hands still shaking a little as she handed it to Stein.

Kneeling next to Brion he barked over his shoulder, “Administer benzodiazepine to both Nirim and Brion. One for the pain and one for…” he glanced at Beveres wondering what judgemental thoughts would come from his next clarification, “Chemical restraint.” Glancing back at Brion he continued, “Dr. Beveres would you be so kind as to help me get him on the table? We will want to get the bone set before using the osteo-regeneration.” He then looked back to Brion, “You do have an osteo-regeneratior yes? Or are we going to have to do it the old fashioned way?”

Dr. Stein
CMO

Bright quickly loaded the hypos and cautiously made her way towards Lazoh. She felt sick to her stomach as she saw the CMO writhing in pain on the floor, her deformed and shattered arm at the most unnatural angle. Thankfully Lazoh’s attention was still on the CMO and Beveres as she snuck up and administered the dose to Nirim. The intruder quickly snapped round and pushed the nurse away, sending her flying into Stein. The intruder started making a beeline for Stein but after a few steps she began to sway as the drug took effect. “What did you do to us…?” she asked, her speech beginning to slur. After a few more steps, Nirim stumbled and hit the deck, looking bewildered.

Satisfied that the young woman was subdued for the time being, Nurse Bright quickly administered the pain killer to Brion, giving her an apologetic smile as the doctor cried in pain. Brion took a couple of moments to regain herself before nodding to Stein. “Third drawer down…” she muttered, indicating to the trolley next to them.

Mother Hen

OOC: Bump for Beveres, else I’ll skip her.

Stein

OOC: Trin’s LOA for the next couple of weeks so let’s carry on the thread and she can jump back in when she returns.

Em

It seemed to take an eternity to get to the sickbay without using the lifts, but Nevin and the other officers accompanying entered quickly and immediately began surveying their surroundings…
