Things were ticking over fairly quietly on the Viking with most of the senior officers down on the surface. As NE Dannika sat at the science station, she absent-mindedly twiddled her hair, the night shift was dull as anything. As she watched the same readouts scroll past her screen, she stifled a quick yawn and rubbed her eyes. As she began to drift off, her console lit up like a Christmas tree as alerts started going off.

She jumped at the noise and frantically jabbed at the console. “Uh, sir, ma’am, anyone?!” she exclaimed, not even sure who the duty officer was. “I’m reading an imminent failure in the life support systems!” she squeaked in a panic. After she ran a quick lap around the bridge in a flap she tapped her comm badge.
