The shuttle trip was long. Francis hated long trips in shuttles. He actually hated shuttles. Really he just hated space. In a perfect world he would have been assigned some place quiet, like Earth.

But his disdain for people in general made it an easy decision when he was offered a posting on a ship so far away from the rest of the Federation, people worried they may constantly be cut off one day, it was an offer too good to pass up.

And so when he finally boarded the the Viking he was grumpy but made his way to the Sickbay looking for the CMO to check in with.
