The klingon Ensign had woken up late. He had barely slept and when he did, he was dreaming of the war, and the secrets he hid. “QIp cham” (dumb technology) he said throwing the clock on the nightside. He put on his uniform, and rushed out the door. He arrived at the Counselor’s office door with two minutes to spare before his scheduled appointment time.

Tal was expecting him, knowing there were a few new officers aboard the ship. Although, she was only focused that those she had direct appointments with at any given time. Rising her head, she checked the chronometer, allowing in whoever happened to be on the other side of that door. The incoming Ensign, she thought them possible to be, but would never dare assume.

OOC: Sorry, I did forget when I made this post.

Ensign Sharvi walked through the now open door.
“Ensign Tath’ihl of the House of Sharvi reporting for my appointment, Ma’am.” He hoped he didn’t sound annoyed. As a starfleet officer, he knew this was protocol, but as a klingon, he hated talking to people who tried to get in his head. He had to keep his secret intact.

“Welcome to the Viking, Ensign. Please, come have a seat.” She smiled over at him. Her purpose wasn’t to try and get into his head, it was to understand who he was as a person, not a mind. And that was sometimes more than just the brain had to offer. She understood how displeased most were to come see her, but she didn’t particularly mind much. “I am afraid I cannot offer any refreshments.. my replicator is out of order.”

“That’s ok, Ma’am. I don’t require anything at the moment.” he said to her as he sat in one of the chairs.

“All right,” She nodded to him, settling herself in her seat. “So, how have you been, Mister Sharvi?” She inquired.

Lt. Beveres

“I’m doing good, ma’am.” He responded. “I’m excited, and honored, and ready to begin my position as a security officer on the USS Viking. Also, nervous, as this is my first starfleet assignment, I don’t want to bring my dishonor upon my house.” The klingon ensign said.

“When you left for Starfleet, were members of your house supportive of your decision?” Tal asked, a genuine curosity about her voice. She fell quiet, afterwards, to keep the question open to the man.

Lt. Beveres

“You could say that. I wanted to join starfleet, but Martok also wants more klingons in starfleet to keep the peace among us and humans, so I was forced by higher powers in Starfleet and the Klingon counsel to be assigned to this ship.” He responded.
Ensign Sharvi

“Why would you describe it as ‘forced?’” She inquired, tilting her head. “Do you find your assignment to the Viking to be foul or otherwise displeasant.”

Lt. Beveres

“No, but I can’t honestly say this would be my first choice of a ship to come to.” He told her. “I thought coming to starfleet, i would have been given a little more freedom to choose what I wanted to do and what ship I would serve, but I see that my father’s influence stretches farther than I thought.”
Ensign Sharvi

“A majority of the time, we are not given the choice of where we are assigned. If that were to happen, Starfleet ships would be unbalanced. Thus, sorting mechanisms based on the need of the officer, are placed. Obviously, command felt you were best suited here.” Tal explained, “What do you mean by that, Sharvi? How do your father’s influences stretch so far?”

Ensign Sharvi realized he had revealed too much. “Before we graduated, we were told our assigned ships. My original paperwork was not for this ship. I was called to the Admiral’s office. When I got there, I could hear my father’s voice yelling at the Admiral. He stormed out of the door, and when I walked in, a few minutes after my father left, there was a panel of officers. The Admiral gave me paperwork saying that due to circumstances, I’ve been reassigned to this ship.
