The Thunderdome - meeting Captain Nakuto
Posted by Captain Viktoryia Ravenfall (Commanding officer) in The Thunderdome - meeting Capitan Nakuto
After she had left her ready room she made her way to the one place that always made her feel safe. As far back as she could remember her life had revolved around her ability to fight and survive. Here there was peace and a tranquil moment of peace of mind for Viktoryia. The deamons of her past couldn’t quiet reach her here, and for that she was thankful. She took a deep breath as she tapped her comm badge =/\=Captain Nakuto would you please meet me in the thunderdome at your earliest convenience=/\=
Truth be told Kara had kept Viktoryia going over the past year. When defeat loomed close for Viktoryia she would listen to Kara’s logs and find a renewed strength to make it one more day.
When she had first heard of Kara’s return she was hopeful, but yet had her doubts. The Viking could be a cruel ship at times, and had been to Viktoryia on more the one occasion. As she waited for Kara she began to sing softly to her self.
Captain Ravenfall
Ravenfall. Nakuto had gone to great lengths to avoid the new Captain of the Viking since her own return. As with most things in the life of the half-Klingon, her feelings on the matter formed a tangled duality. On the one hand, she was intrigued to meet the woman who had stepped into her shoes, was keen to discover the nature of this new CO’s own experiences onboard the ship and whether she too had been haunted by those demons that had clung to Kara during her tenure as chief. But still the mantle of shame hung heavy upon her and, to come face to face with her own successor was the final, most painful step in accepting that she, Kara Nakuto, had lost, had been measured a failure by every metric that the role required.
But Ravenfall was her commander now too and the chain of command demanded adherence to by all, no matter how conflicted they might feel. Rules and regulations were the framework on which the entire construct of Starfleet was built, without them would come only chaos. Kara’s own feelings were irrelevant, she had been given a direct order by her CO and she had no choice but to comply.
Still, as she began her descent into the bowels of the massive starship, Kara Nakuto could not sufficiently quell the surprise and confusion at the requested location. The Thunderdome? Seriously? Would she enter and find Ravenfall ready for battle? Were things now so primal on the Viking that promotions were only gained when the predecessor had been eliminated from existence? She had considered bringing her bat’leth but had no desire to announce her intentions so clearly to a potential opponent. Still, as Nakuto entered the former cargo bay now repurposed as a gladiatorial arena, she was greatly calmed by the touch of cold steel tucked inside her boot and nestling against her right ankle.
