Pascal was looking forward to seeing his CSO again, Lt. Woods was someone he got on with on a deep level and just bounced off.

“Even if it was for a very short time…” he said to himself

Walking around the deck he started to remember his reason for joining this ship, the history of his father still puzzled him, the need and desire to find out what happened when he was lost in duty all those years ago burned deep down for answers.

Approaching the CSO’s office he became eye level with the name on the door, reached out, and requested entry.

The silvery chime shivered through the air, drawing Markus out of his reverie. His desk display cheered quietly with the sounds of a crowd. “Safe,” a small voice shouted quietly over the din. Reaching over, Mark paused and minimized the baseball game he’d been watching. It was historical record, rather than live from anywhere. A quick glance at his tasks and calendar for the day showed he didn’t have anything planned. No missed meetings. Though a pending notification showed that Ensign Pascal had arrived shortly before, flagged by the quartermaster and central computer.

With another command to his desk system, the doors opened and he stood. “Come on in, Ensign.” He gestured for his colleague to find his way in. “Can I get you anything? You just got in, right?”
