Crenity flew Circassian around the current abandoned 10 forward. Luna had a deta pad and was sitting at a table new the view port. She was trying to get her report done wail watching her energetic toddler. She was kind of glad that there was not anyone in ten forward at the moment. Crenity needed desperately to get some energy out. She had no idea where Loki had gone to bit hoped he would come find them.

Kara Nakuto couldn’t sleep. With all the upheaval surrounding her return to a now considerably-changed vessel, it was reassuring to find some things at least returning to their former patterns - and her midnight raktajino-run to the Heorot was practically a tradition.

Entering the room, the former captain was surprised to find it already occupied. Luna she knew and remembered well. But the tiny ball of seemingly relentless energy currently running circles around the table was someone entirely new.

“Yours?” she grinned at Luna as she nodded her head towards Crenity. “She seems…lively.”

“ yah for some strange reason she had way to much energy and it gets worse at night. Half of me wants medical to take a look and make she is ok the half of me that still hates doctor says that’s a bad idea. “ Luna said shaking her head.

Kara gave Luna a sympathetic look. She had been there when the Lanius had arrived to taunt them all. She had been there when the doctor, malicious and unethical torturer from Luna’s nightmares made real, had snatched the young woman and imprisoned her on that godsforsaken vessel. She had led the team that had brought both Luna and Reira back to the relative safety of the Viking.

“Oh, they’re not all so bad,” the half-Klingon laughed. Then, her mind being drawn to the Viking’s android CMO, she was quick to add, “although I suspect Lt SEAI might be a little much for young Crenity to handle just yet.”

“ Crenity is pretty fearless, unless your messing with her wings the she this mind numbing scream” Luna said giggling.

Raktajino acquired, Kara took a seat across from Luna on the long table, her elbows resting on its heavy oak surface as she turned her brown eyes on the winged security officer.

“So, how are you both doing, Luna?” she asked, her voice thick with a mixture of caffiene-repelled exhaustion and genuine affection for the woman across from her.

“ Crenity broke her wing wail Loki was sapose to be watching her. I don’t blame him thow she is hard to handle” Luna said. Just then the little girl opened her wings shot up into the air and almost hit her head on the ceiling again. She then landed on the table Iinfrunt of the Kara” I’m Crenity you were with daddy in the shadows right” she said. Luna was to stunned to react. It was like when she recognized Loki when he showed up again. Luna had fingered it was some kind of instinct.

The child’s words were like a physical blow, Nakuto flinching visibly at the seemingly innocent statement. Once more she glanced at Luna, her brown eyes silently questioning. Did you tell her? Did Loki?

“Ah…yes,” her reply was faltering, unsteady. But then natural curiosity took over and she added, “what do you know of the shadows, Crenity?”

Luna was just as lost as Kara considering all the strang things the child could do. “ there friendly most of them some of them like to toment people like the ones that got you and daddy and others want us dead” Crenity said. Luna’s eyes went wide. “ where did you hear that” Luna said panic clear in her voice. Crenity blinked and looked at Luna. “ the monsters in my room” she said calmly. “ I think a visit to the consuler is in order” Luna muttered.

OOC: Awesome post, Christina! This is exactly where I hoped we would go with Crenity!

IC: Kara frowned deeply as she studied the small child in front of her. No sentient being should have to deal with horrors of this nature. But for one so young, so innocent, it was almost unconscionable. What manner of entities had she encountered to haunt her so deeply? The half-Klingon reached out and stroked Crenity’s hair, the gesture wholly inadequate in the face of such terror but hopefully a comfort all the same, however miniscule it might be.

A cautionary glance towards Luna. Would she object to her former captain indulging such perverted fantasies from her daughter? But Kara needed to ask. She needed to know.

“Tell me about these monsters, Crenity,” she replied softly. “What else do they tell you?”

“There not monsters, not all of them sum of them were part of are world. The monsters are the ones that made them shadow and have control of the ship.” Crenity said not at all bothered.
Ensign Luna

Kara nodded. Somehow she’d known, or sensed, that some of the entities on the Viking had once been human. How they had found themselves trapped for an eternity in such a miserable, ethereal state onboard the vessel remained unknown. But perhaps Crenity would be the key to further understanding?

“Crenity,” she continued slowly, “do you know why the monsters made them shadow? What had they done to deserve such a fate?”

“ Kara she has to be emaginig this” Luna’s said. She was understandably consurned for Crenity’s well being. Crenity looked at her mom then at the captain. “ they are real there’s one behind you” she said pointing at a random shadow. “ they don’t know why the shadow monsters atack them.” The child added after a moment.
