Finally, Cherp’eng made his way to the Science Labs and the office of the ship’s CSO. He went to the door of the office and pushed the chime and then waited for the CSO to acknowledge his presence, if the Denobulan was in.

A voice said “Come in!” from behind the door and the door slid open halfway, shut, opend a quarter, shut, and then opened fully. The Chief Science Officer sat behind his desk glaring at the door. “Do come in before the damned thing kills you. What can I do for you?”
