After leaving the medical bay he immediately started heading for the ship’s counselor’s office.

“The past few months have not been easy on my mind..” he said to himself

Keeping his head high and mind focussed he pressed the entry bell to the waiting area, the door opened and he entered a dark room.

A vioce from the darkness said “The door was closed for a reason, actually.” and the lights came on to reveal a room much different than most of the ship.

The office was obviously different from the rest of the ship. It had the feel more of an old fashioned den or study than an office. It was lit in a more subdued manner than the rest of the ship and bookcases lined one wall, filled with copies and originals of many texts on many different subjects and in more than a few languages. The desk was moved, set against the opposite wall facing away from the corner, the window to the left of a person seated at the desk and allowing for a large open space in the middle. Here there was a couch and a few chairs, one of which sat in front of and facing away from the desk. A low table graced the middle of the area, and on it was a small bowl filled with softly glowing crystals that now cast soft multi-colored lights around the room. Pictures hung on the walls, some were even old photographs.

“Can I help you?” the voice said again. It took a moment to realize that there was a man seated at the desk. He was so plain looking he seemed to simply blend into the office. In fact, he may have been overlooked entirely except for the fact that he wore actual glasses on his face… and the Lieutenant Commander pips on his collar.

“I am Lieutenant Commander Korczak.” he said in his oddly accented voice. His face was calm, and his voice even. “I trust that there is a reason you are sneaking into my office during my break time, Ensign?” and he gave the man a small smile.
