IC: He’d been assigned to help fix a sensor relay grid in the ship. Normally that was Engineering’s department but since he was the scientist and had the technical knowledge, he decided to just do it himself rather than wait for some overworked Ensign to do it. But still, even though it wasn’t the same ship, even though it had been many years since then… Reira still wasn’t too fond of crawling through Jefferies Tubes. It wasn’t claustrophobia, it was more that it brought up some very bad memories for the former Drone.

Pulling the panel off the wall, the Science Ensign’s blue eyes focused on the technology before him, soon repairing the relay and replacing the damaged components when all the lights went out. “Kuso! Nani wo surunda!” He cursed in his native language, fumbling to put the panel back on before tapping his combadge, he could feel his heartbeat rising rapidly. =^= This is Ensign Reira Akaba to anyone nearby, there’s a power outage in Section 7B-Gamma. Please respond. =^= Fear was not necessary, it was a human emotion. He would adapt.

“Hi there!” A little voice popped up, very cheerful. A little girl was next to him. “You got old.”

“What are you doing in here?” Reira inquired, perhaps a touch too sharply considering the age of the subject. “I’m sorry, I’m not familiar with you.” He shook his head, crawling along the cramped passageway.

“What do you mean? I guess it’s been a really long time. And last time you saw me I looked like this.” Borg cybernetics sprouted from within the girl’s body. She became familiar as someone who was assimilated with Reika.

“Jennifer Cartwright… You were another one of the children aboard the Endeavour, your mother was the Chief Engineer.” Reira felt horrified looking at her, he’d tried to forget their faces and names. But now she was haunting him. “You were the last one they assimilated before I was, you held my hand before the Drones took you away.” He whispered, clutching at his shoulders as he hugged himself. “You are a Drone somewhere in the Collective. You do not exist in this place at that age, I am simply experiencing a cognitive malfunction. I must regenerate.” He wasn’t sure if he’d believe himself, but this was scaring him.
