USS Sentinel

Main Sim - Transporter Room 1 - Landing Party Assemble!

[snip]

NEs Moe and Larry blanched but looked on quietly at T’Pria’s reprimand. “..Sorry ma’am, just joking around..” they both murmured.

Th’elin stepped into the room just after T’pria, intending to have a last word with Ivo before Cerny’s landing party departed for the surface. He raised an eyebrow, overhearing the exchange. “I think we’ll keep our uniforms, thank you.” His dark eyes rested on the two NE’s for a solemn moment before he nodded to T’pria. “How’ve you settled in so far?” He asked the Vulcan.

-Zarath, CO

The Vulcan engineer had not been expecting small talk from her Captain and, as she attempted to form an appropriate response, the struggle was declared by the frown deepening across her face.

“I…it is satisfactory, Captain,” she replied eventually. “Thank you. And how are your quarters, Sir? I hear the command staff spaces are reasonably large on this ship.”

  • Lt T’Pria (CE)

As T’Pria and Zarath were talking, Cerny finally entered the Transporter Room. He immediately grabbed standard equipment: type 2 phaser, communicator, and a tricorder. He slung the tricorder over his shoulder, and attached the phaser an communicator to his uniform pants in the appropriate places in that futuristic way that totally wasn’t velcro.

– Ivo Černý, XO/CSO

Zarath nodded to Černý as he entered, but answered the Vulcan Engineer. “Quite satisfactory, thank you.” He didn’t point out that his quarters were only slightly larger, knowing better than to split hairs with a Vulcan. “Look, I didn’t mean for us to get off on the wrong foot. I asked for you specifically and I value your expertise. I need that expertise on this mission…”

The sounds of velcro made his antennae twitch in Černý’s direction momentarily.

-Zarath, CO

T’Pria frowned. “The…wrong foot, Sir? I assure you, I consider our ‘footing’ to have been agreeable so far.”

Her ability to disguise almost any emotion with her regulation, or as had been referred to often by others, ‘bored’, expression, was almost as exemplary as her talents with a hyperspanner. But to learn that Zarath had requested her personally and that he acknowledged her advanced skills in engineering, was immensely satisfying. Indeed, for a brief moment the Vulcan found herself almost warming to her new Commanding Officer and his crew.

But then Vulcan would freeze over before she would allow any of them to know that.

Quinn entered the transporter room, having arrived ahead of her security team. Picking up her own equipment, she checked it over and slung the belt around her waist. She could feel the anticipation… the excitement, that she always felt before leaping into the unknown build as she waited for them to move out. It had been far too long since she’d done this. “Everyone armed and ready?” she asked. While the assembled crew were not of her department and some of them of higher rank, she was still the security chief and ensuring they all took the proper measures when going into a hostile environment was part of her job.

Lt Quinn Phy-Knight
Security Chief

NE Moe spoke up, “..This all thats going down?” He inquired.

GM CockRoach

“No,” Cerny said simply. “We’re waiting for at least two more. And we’re going down in two groups. You should have the coordinates already.” He had made sure to send them down here before he handed the science station over to Mr. Savage.

“You’re not having any problems with targeting through that interference, right?”

– Ivo Černý, XO/CSO

“Nervous, Commander?” T’Pria raised one elegant eyebrow at the XO. “I can assure you, my team have personally configured the safety protocols on the patters buffers and they are within established parameters.”

  • Lt T’Pria (CE)

Ovik suddenly got buzzed.

=/\= Ensign Ovik, prepare a security team and meet us in the transporter room. Make sure they’re prepared to engage hostiles if needs be. At present, we don’t know what’s out there. Phy-Knight out. =/\=

The Vulcan opened his comm and replied back. =/\= On our way, sir. =/\= He looked over to some of the folks in the room. “Crewman Foster and Jenkins, with me, if you please.”

Eventually the security officer and his two cohorts showed up at Transporter Room 1. They were clad in red shirts with black undershirts, and belts with phasers and comms on them. Ovik also had a small tricorder in hand. “Sirs,” he said, as the trio saluted Phy-Knight and the other superiors in the room. Ovik stayed at attention while the other two brought their arms down, still rigid in stance. “Security team reporting.”

Ens. Ovik, Security
