“It looks like a lot of new faces on board this time around. I’m sure the captain will give you all an official welcome, let me give you the UNofficial one.”The CPO stood at attention and spoke. “As about the only holdover from her shakedown cruise, sirs, welcome to the USS Sentinel!”

As the latest person entered, she laughed. “Well… I guess this ‘is’ the most exciting place on the ship. Although, I guess this is the last chance we’ll get to come up here without a valid excuse, huh?” Being Comms, she knew she would be here more often than her quarters, but she was curious about the rest. Just how many people other than Command Staff actually were up here on a regular basis?

Comms“Thank you,” T’Pria replied to the CPO, before moving quickly to the engineering station and, with her back now to the gathered crew, she occupied herself fully with examining every button and panel on the workbench.
T’Pria (Chief Engineer)
Aatami smiled as each spoke and when a break in the conversation warranted it, his thick Russian accented voice said “Lieutenant JG Myasnikov. I am the new Navigator.” and he looked at Black Wolf. “I imagine you and I will be working closely together, Chief. Very much looking forward to it.” and he glanced at the open control panels the Helmsman had previous been working on. “Care to show me what you have going on?”
Myasnikov, Navigator
“As am I, Lt.,” the Chief replied. He turned back to the helm/nav console. “On the shakedown, she was responding a bit sluggishly to starboard. The engineers were busy tweaking the engines, so I figured I’d look at it myself once we got back to drydock.. Turns out there was a bad relay I had to replace.”
He bent down to seal the console back up. “I need to run a diagnostic yet, but hopefully that’s all it was.”
He indicated the navigator’s seat. “Go ahead, it’s your seat now, sir.”
CPO Black Wolf (Helm)
Instead of taking a seat, the bulky Russian just stood. “Sluggishly? You know, V’tol Industries on Vulcan has a series of new plasma injectors that take the load off the relays by as much as eighteen percent. I bet, if we asked, we could get our hands on a set. Might save us as much as… say… almost three-quarters a second in response time. And if we are already replacing relays…” and he looked at the helmsman with a ‘Know what I mean?’ look on his face.
Kohana grinned at the officers ingenuity. “You might want to run those injectors by the Chief Engineer before installing them. You know engineers get when people mess with their babies.. I’m all for quicker response, but if you have to get them . . .through other channels, I don’t want to know about it.”

As the group started breaking up to do their things, Amber moved to Comms, the seat behind the Captain’s chair. This wasn’t her first time in the seat and the memory of that initial moment still brought a smile to her face. It’s possible, in time, that that feeling would wear off and it would become a simple job. But she hoped that didn’t happen anytime soon.
She went back to softly humming as the others moved about.

CommsOnce she had finished with the Doc, Quinn looked around at the others that had gathered on the bridge. “So, I’m Quinn and I’ll be your security chief for this trip. So cause the Boss-man any grief and I get the pleasure of hauling your backside down to the brig.” She looked around, unable to see the captain. “Speaking of which, has anyone seen the Boss-man?”

Security ChiefMyasnikov, Navigator
Paul stood somewhat awkwardly as he pulled his ruffled uniform straight from the Security chiefs, very tactile greeting. “Yes well, perhaps when you find him Lieutenant you can offer him a nice hug as well” he said and finished adjusting his look by correcting the placement of his glasses which the young red haired woman had knocked askew.
Glancing around at those assembled Paul said “well if you’ll all excuse me I think I’ll go in search of the captain elsewhere. Have a good day,” and with that he crossed to the turbo lift and left the bridge.
