Asam stepped into her quarters and moved to the side that served as her office. She sat down at the desk and tapped a button, letting Dovek know that she was at her station and ready to receive the comm. She knew Thraz would be right behind her, but given the situation and the unpredictability of Klingons, Asam wasn’t inclined to wait to receive the message.

Cpt. Asam, CO

Thraz moved in behind her and stood behind her, there was no seat, and he wanted too see the expression and movments of the admiral, andorian speach had layers and he wanted to know all of them. Her Antena, posture head tilts would tell him what he needed to know.

The Admiral’s face appeared a moment later. She looked much as she had during the distress call. Stern. Cold.

And now, maybe, a little tired.

Behind her was a simple bulkhead, and the sounds of the command center were gone.

“I want to thank you for your timely arrival, Captain Asam. It helped turn the tide.” There was a pause. The Admiral’s lips pressed together firmly, but there was no other outward change in her expression. “It took us far too long to realize that our sensors were compromised.”

“And once our ships shifted to manual targeting… it took some time before they were even remotely accurate. My compliments to whichever officer was manning your tactical station; they adapted much faster than most.”

Rende turned her head slightly and waved at Thraz. “That would be my first officer. Cmdr Thraz, sh’Kellirathras, Admiral. He is the best.” It was not empty praise, but said with confidence and knowledge of the truth of her statement.

Zh’Rhoe paused again, her eyes on Rende as she evaluated the other woman.

“The captain of the Declaration is assessing repair options, potentially harvesting parts from the Pontiac, but he is not confident. That means our timeline to safety is really eighteen hours. That’s how long it will take for a second task force to reach our location.”

“You risked your ship and crew to come to our aid, Captain, and I’m sure you have questions. Ask… and I’ll answer what I can.”

“I am just glad we were able to make it here in time, Admiral.” Rende said. Which was true, they were lucky the Sentinel was able to make it. “What exactly is the mission of this task force, Admiral?”

Cpt. Asam, CO

The Admiral’s antenna rippled slightly, indicating a faint hint of pride. “You do honor to your Keth, Commander.”

She quickly controlled her reaction as the discussion continued. “The mission was twofold. Ostensibly, we were policing the border. A few of our patrol vessels have gone missing in the region, and we believe the Klingons have been attacking ships on the edges of their territory. We received a partial distress call before our last ship was destroyed, which indicated they were beset by a ‘squadron of attackers.’” That could explain the size of the Admiral’s task force.

“Our ultimate goal was to gather intelligence on the Klingons. A safeguard against inevitable future hostilities.” Her tone was cool, almost clinical. “Reports indicate that these attacks might not be limited to Federation space, and that similar skirmishes are happening along Klingon borders with the Romulans, Orions, and even the Tholians.”

Zh’Rhoe’s antennae were still in a neutral posture, but angled back toward her skull ever so slightly, letting a trace of anger show. “Tactical Operations believes these isolated incidents are an indication that the Klingons are training new crews and conducting trial runs of new tactics. Threat assessment anticipates full-scale war with the Klingons in seven to ten years.”

Her eyes narrowed. “Unfortunately, my past caught up with me. Captain Urok of House Boct, an old nemesis of mine, seems to be leading this flotilla of Birds-of-Prey. He taunted me over comms during the early stages of their ambush. Given the fact that they fled upon rendering the Declaration incapable of warp, I can only imagine they are regrouping.”

“And plan on returning to finish what they started.”

OCC: Thraz is semi famous on Andoria as well, she may know him, your call. If you need more detail than what’s in his profile I can give it.

IC:
Rende looked confused a moment, as Thraz watched her lean back in her seat, he sensed it, something was wrong. “Captain” he said as her body relaxed and began to slouch. Thraz took hold of Rende and helped her to the floor, [O] Thraz to Sickbay, medical emergency. [C] he checked her vitals, she was stable just unconscious.

<insert medical response please respect her race and that she is currently "Human" no one knows about it>
ooc: thank you, yes I made that mistake already :)

[o] On my way.[c] came the immediate reply from the CMO.
Only seconds afterwards - she must have been close by - Dana came in and immediately ordered a stretcher to carry the captain to sickbay, running a scan while checking her vitals. She wanted to ask what had happened, but seeing the admiral on the screen she also didn’t want to disturb. She gave Thraz a quizzical look.
Dr Anu, CMO

Once Rende was in the hands of the medical team, Thraz took the Captains desck chair. “Appologies Admiral, she is fine for the moment but it appears I will need to asume command for now” he said.

OOC: The Admiral is older than you, and the Ice Shelf Incident happened while she was away in Starfleet. She knows of the event in general, but not enough to instantly recognize your name.

IC:

The Admiral’s eyes narrowed, but her demeanor remained stoic as she watched the medical team arrive and take Rende away. Once the situation was resolved, she turned her attention back to Thraz.

“Very well, Commander. The Sentinel performed admirably upon its arrival, and Captain Asam already stated that you were manning the tactical station. That is the exact skill set we need right now.”

She paused, processing this sudden change and how it affected her plans. “We have just under eighteen hours until reinforcements arrive. I need you and the Sentinel to prepare yourselves for additional attacks and try to figure out mitigations or countermeasures for Captain Urok’s new tactics.”

“Do you have any remaining questions?”

Gamemaster Mal Fet

Thraz thought a moment, his antena turning slightly. “No Admiral, I’ll get a report over to you, once we know how we are going to counter the senor ghosts.” he said. “It’s an honor to be working with you Admiral” he noted
