There were windows so he could see into the room, and though he gave Kreed a skeptical look, he nodded. “You have five minutes to ask whatever you need to for your patient’s sake.” He was being clear about the boundaries here.
Meanwhile, Sylvia moved to Lt. Morgan. “We’re contacting the ship to arrange for Lt. Hart’s transfer. We’ll need security with us at all times, if you can help arrange that?”
Morgan nodded. “I’ll call for an escort. I need to stay to conduct a further investigation, but I will stay until you are safely away.” Morgan stepped to the side and flipped open her comm. She called to the other officers who had come with her. She recalled them to Hart’s room.
Kham stepped to a quiet corner. [O]Nurse Montri to Sentinel.[o]

Zaril was sitting at his station rather bored buy happy and willing to do his duty. Then the call came in. [o] “Sentinel, Confirmed Nurse Montri, Patient and personnel transfer, Lieutenant Heart, Two medical and Security, will additional personnel be arriving in secondary. Over “[o] While he waited he opened an internal com to the transporter room. [o] “Chief incoming patient, medical escort and security personnel” [o] He then waited for the return call before contacting sickbay.

Redshirts Ward and Richardson came from opposite sides of the corridor a few moments later. “Lt Hart is being transferred back to the Sentinel. You both will stay with her until she is safely in sickbay and Dr. Kreed has dismissed you.” The nodded, “Aye Lt. We’ll stay with her.” They took positions up outside the room.

Kreed had stepped inside the room next door and, after Kelreden had entered, shut the door. Black eyes seemingly regarded the man without expression; but in fact Kreed was looking at him closely through the infrared spectrum. He could see the man’s blood circulate through his body, exchanging carbon dioxide for oxygen in his lungs… Warm as it passed through his heart, and cool as it reached his extremities only to be circulated back to start over again. He could even see the beating of the man’s heart as flashes of red and then slightly less red. The Saurian doctor stood motionless for several moments. He then said “You will tell me exactly what you gave her and how. I do not care for the legality of your actions, Mr. Kelreden. That is between you and the local authorities. My only concern is for the Lieutenant. And as I am going to have to administer more medications to her upon our return to the ship; I want to be absolutely sure there will be no negative interactions.” Kreed hadn’t moved since he began speaking. It was… unnerving… to say the least. His black orbs of eyes stayed fixed on Kelreden like a predatory lizard watching a mouse scurry around in front of him, oblivious to it’s peril. “You will tell me now and truthfully… because I will know if you lie. And if you lie, I will be extremely put-out. Do you understand?”
Kreed, CMO
Daro didn’t like being in a room alone without others there, but the constable had allowed it so he had very little choice. He sucked in a deep breath, clearly intimidated, but standing his ground. “We both had been drinking. We had a couple drinks at the club together, but I don’t know what she might have had before that. And we both took the psilocybin.”
He was at least telling the truth so far.
Outside the room, the med technician, Petty Officer Sol McMahon, stepped out of the room with Constable Maliia and they approached Lt. Morgan. McMahon looked at Morgan with an intense gaze. “They’re getting Leah ready for the transfer and I’ll go back later. But I can stay and help if you like. I was with her last night and we were all staying at the hotel. Kham, Nurse Montri, said she’d return to the hotel later to pack up Leah’s stuff, but she wanted to give the investigation time first.”

Bump
The motionless Saurian stayed motionless. It had moved past the point of unnerving and now, strangely… without even blinking… the doctor seemed somehow slightly different… dangerous. “Continue.” he said flatly.
Kreed, CMO
Kreed definitely made him nervous and Daro seemed to shrink ever so slightly. “I don’t know what else to tell you. That’s all we took. Alcohol and the psilocybin.”
~Leah Hart, NP
“Where did you get the psilocybin? And what amount did you give her? And when? Was it oral? Mixed with anything? And what happened afterwards?” The questions came quickly, but then the Saurian paused and just… waited.
Kreed, CMO
Daro’s brows lifted and he stared at Kreed for a moment before briefly glancing out the window into the hallway. Returning his gaze to the Saurian, he seemed unimpressed, but also willing to cooperate. “I got it from a person I know that I trust. It was pure- I checked and took all precautions. We both took about three grams and mixed it into some juice and drank it. But, yes we had already had alcohol at that point.” Afterwards, we rode the wave of it and she seemed fine. She fell asleep after the initial high dissipated and I checked on her before I went and had a shower. When I came out, she was gone and I got really worried and went looking for her. When I couldn’t find her after a few hours, I was worried about side effects and that’s when I decided to go ask the constabulary for help. I never meant for anything bad to happen to her, you have to believe me,” he said earnestly.
Based on what he could sense from Daro, and what Dr. Hunter had said in Leah’s room, Daro was being honest, but the amount of the converted substance in Leah’s blood stream by the time they all had arrived at the hospital said that something was off, but what?

Bump
Kreed didn’t move, didn’t blink… didn’t even seem to be breathing. He just stared at Daro. When he spoke… finally… his was just as flat and emotionless. But he previous edge now seemed to be scalpel-sharp. “Again I will ask… just once more. Where did you get it from. We will need a sample from whomever sold it to you. And what you are saying doesn’t match the facts. The amount in her system is far greater than if she only ingested what you say. So I need to know where the discrepancy comes in.”
Kreed, CMO
Daro almost took a step back before his expression turned to frustration. “I have friends on Risa. One of them got it for me from a herbalist. I’m a paramedic. I checked it to be sure it was safe. There’s a small amount left back in my hotel room. I’m sure the constable will check for you.” His expression shifted to something fierce. “Leah means everything to me. Believe what you want but if I thought there was a chance she’d have a bad reaction, I wouldn’t have left her alone to wake up that way. Never,” he said adamantly very much ready to step away from this conversation.
The constable stepped in and surveyed the pair. Maliia gave Kreed a questioning look.
~Leah Hart, NP
Kreed didn’t look at the Constable, but said “He said there is a sample of the drug he gave the Lieutenant in his room. It will need to be secured and analyzed. I would request one of your officers accompany the sample to our ship. Our lab has equipment that you may not have in your forensics laboratory.” The black eyes stared at Daro for a long moment more before Kreed simply turned and walked towards the door. He stopped and turned around before leaving. “If I discover any kind of premeditated action, I will press charges in Star Fleet Command and the Federation government. And I will ensure the Lieutenant receives whatever istoce she deserves.” He turned and walked out, never really specifying who exactly he had been speaking to.
Kreed, CMO
Maliia quirked a brow but said nothing to his retreating form. Instead, she focused on Kelreden. “Let’s go Mr. Keldreden. As discussed, you’ll be held for questioning while we investigate.”
“I need to speak with Leah, again,” Daro said, his voice tinged with desperation.
Tai actually broke into a small laugh. “Bold ask. No, Mr. Kelreden, you cannot see Lieutenant Hart, unless she specifically ask for you. Come, we’ll get the formal statement.” She led him out of the room and through the ward where the Starfleet staff had now vacated as they had gathered all of Hart’s belongings here at the hospital. She was going to have one of her team follow-up on a couple of things with the hospital staff, but now it seemed that their clues were elsewhere.
