Morgan left the hospital heading toward Lt Hart’s hotel and the one where she was found. She would visit the night club as well. Someone had to have seen something, and she was going to find out who saw it, who they saw, what they saw, and when they saw it. And anything else she could get out of them.Entering the lobby of Hart’s hotel she walked to the lobby desk. “Excuse me,” she smiled at the woman behind the counter. “I’m with the Sentinel, and I was wondering if I could ask you a few questions.” She showed the woman a picture of Lt Hart. “Do you remember anything about this woman?”
Lt Tracey Morgan, sec
The young concierge nodded. “Oh yes,” she said. “Lieutenant hart, right? She was the one whose friends were trying to find her this morning. My colleague took one of her friends up to do a wellness check and I heard back that she has bene found and that friend will be picking up her belongings later. Is she okay?”
~Hotel Concierge
Tracey shook her head, “I’m afraid not. We did find her though. We’re trying to figure out what happened to her. Do you recall anyone else hanging around or watching them. Perhaps someone came by asking about her?”
Morgan, Sec
She shook her head. “No, I don’t think so. I was on the desk last evening as well, and I can’t recall anything odd. Lt. Hart did come down after they checked in and asked about recommendations for places to go dancing. But it was a quiet evening and there was hardly anyone around at the time and no one asked about her until this morning.”
~Leah Hart, NP
“What about your house staff? Would it be possible to ask them if they saw anyone near her room?” Morgan asked.
Morgan, Sec
“You could, though it could take time to track down everyone who was working yesterday,” the attendant said. “But it might be easier if we get whomever is in charge of security today to help you. They’ll be able to look at the footage with you.”
~Leah Hart, NP
“Thank you, that was going to be my next question.” Tracey moved out of the way to wait for the resorts security lead.
Morgan, sec
A few minutes later, a tall and thin Risian man with short black hair appeared and gave Morgan a nod. “Lieutenant, I’m Renu Okor, head of security here at Liorema Resort. I’ll you’ll come with me, I can see what might be on our footage.”
“Lt. Tracey Morgan. Thank you for your assistance.” Morgan followed him back.
They moved down an adjacent hallway and he used his credentials to move through a locked door. Back here was the admin hub of the hotel. They had already verified Morgan’s identity and so he was fine bringing her back here.
Into another room, there were screens on two of the walls with all the live cameras. On the third wall was a workstation and it was there he moved to, taking up one of the two chairs. He gestured for her to take a seat. “Alright, so we can pull whatever you need, but uh, give me a place to start-location, time. Concierge confirmed her room was on the third floor, Suite 316.”
~Leah Hart, NP
“I’d like to start with after they checked in through 0400 this morning,” Morgan said. That would give her an idea if anyone was watching her before hand. Or if Leah had come back to her room at any point.
Cpt. Asam, CO
“Okay,” Okor said as he referenced the information that Concierge had given him. “Her check-in was at 1600 hours, so let’s see what we’ve got.”
Footage from Concierge appeared, starting at 15 :50. He ran it it at 1.5 x speed till Leah, Sylvia, Sol, and Kham appeared at 16:02. Leah leaned against the counter and the quartet seemed in good spirits, laughing and joking with the same women at the desk that Tracy had spoken to. Other guests were milling about but usually just passing through the frame. There was no one obviously paying attention to the group.
“Next we can look at her floor and see the comings and goings. Anyone we’re looking for in particular? I can have the computer isolate any particular physical traits.”
~Leah Hart, NP
“Yes, but I don’t want to cloud my judgement and miss something because I assumed incorrectly,” Tracey said.
Morgan, Sec
“Fair,” he said with a nod and then began to run the footage. Leah went into her suite not long after checking in and then she emerged just before 1900 hours. She goes down the lift. No one other than people going into their own rooms nearby or the occasional porter appears.
Leah came back up into her suite around 2030 hours and Nurse Montri and Dr. Hunter appear about an hour later all dressed up. They knock on Hart’s door and Leah appears, also ready for their night out. They leave together a few minutes later.
While they were watching the footage with an accelerated speed, it was clear that Leah didn’t return to her room that night, nor did anyone else show up on the floor that seemed out of the ordinary.
~Leah Hart, NP
Nothing out of the ordinary there. “Thank you, Okar. I appreciate your help.” She paused, “Do you have cameras outside? I would like to see if anyone followed them as they left last evening.”
Cpt. Asam, CO
“One at the entrance and some around the building and perimeter of the property. But let’s start with entrance, since they would have gone out the front if they were going to go to the clubs down the road.”
Switching views, they saw the quartet leave and walk down the main walkway to the front of the resort property. There were people passing and at one point a young woman was behind them, but she split off in a different direction once they all reached the main road and embraced another woman there before they went off together. Renu blew out a breath. “Well, I’ve seen a lot of different scenarios over the years, but this all seems normal. We can fast forward to when they returned, which I understand was only three of them? Unless you want to see something else?”
~Leah Hart, NP
Morgan nodded, “Just to be thorough let’s look at when they arrived back.” A thought occurred to her, “Does your system keep track of when the doors to the rooms are opened?”
Morgan, sec
“Yes and no. We know when the key cards are used. Those records are archived a week after a guest checks out,” Renu said. He skipped ahead to the time noted when Hart’ friends returned. It was at 0037 hours. They entered through the lobby in good spirits, but it was just the three of them. Leah hadn’t come back with them as they all originally explained. There were no people hanging around or watching them and the lobby was quiet.
“I’ll pull Hart’s key card records,” he said. A few moments later he shrugged. “Hmmm. Well, It all looks as expected. She checked in, came back after their dinner, the key card hasn’t been used since. A security master keycard was used when they went to do a wellness check. That’s it.”
~Renu, Hotel Security
