Marcus winked, “I’m just showing you how good I am in interrogations. I was always an explorer at heart; the Anders family goes back to the days of the NX-01, it’s said an ancestor of mine flew beta shift on Archer’s ship. Travis Mayweather taught Nicholas Anders, my grandfather everything he knew. That, my dear Leah, is one of my family’s many claims to fame.”

She studied him a moment, a look of curiosity on her face. “Did you feel compelled to join Starfleet because of that legacy, or do you think you still would have joined even if you hadn’t had that rich family history?” Lives were more complicated than that, but she was intrigued by how he might answer?

“Like I said, I feel like I’ve always been an explorer, so I guess I was headed for the stars no matter what.”
-Lieutenant Junior Grade Marcus Anders: Chief of Security-
She ate another bite of pizza and chewed, thinking though her response. “Ahh, but the choice of what to do when you get there is endless. You could do anything, but you chose to join Starfleet and be in security. Those aren’t random choices,” she said with a wink.

“If it led to the two of us meeting lass,” he said with a raise of his glass, “Then it’ll have been worth it.” A charmer’s smile crossed the young man’s lips.
-Lieutenant Junior Grade Marcus Anders: Chief of Security-
She chuckled. “Wow, that was line if I ever heard one. Do you use them a lot with people you have casual meals with?” Leah said with a mischievous gleam in her eyes.

“Only in the right situation - and for the right person,” Marcus winked.
-Lieutenant Junior Grade Marcus Anders: Chief of Security-
“Hmmm,” she said, smiling as she drank from her glass. Leah looked around the galley and then back at Marcus. “I am rather glad that I’m starting to get to know people. I’m used to having a group of friends around, and though I can call a couple people back on Earth, it’s different now.”

Marcus’ smile got a little wider, “If it helps lass, any friend of yours is a friend of mine.”

She laughed lightly. “I’d be careful with that. You don’t know my friends,” Leah said with a smirk.

“Well maybe I’d like to get to know them,” Marcus was blatantly flirting now, but Leah was nice so he wanted to ensure he definitely was making a good impression.
-Lieutenant Junior Grade Marcus Anders: Chief of Security-
“Well, they’re not here. A little tricky, that.” She finished the last bite of her slice of pizza and took a sip of water.
“What about you? Any friends you’d bury bodies for, no questions asked?” Leah said, smirking.
~Leah Hart, NP
“Surely if I answer that question,” Marcus began, a glint forming in his eye, “It brings my integrity as a Security Officer in Starfleet into question?”
-Lieutenant Junior Grade Marcus Anders: Chief of Security-
She smiled but it was softer. “Nah, just an inquiry,” Leah said, folding her arms in the table. “I have a friend back at Starfleet Medical I’d do anything I could for. They were there for me during some tough times in the last year and I like to think that even though I’m now on a starship duty I’d find a way to help them I could.”
