Randy once more headed to sickbay for a meeting that felt almost awkward even if there were no particular reason for it. “Time tae check oot whit’s wrang wi’ ye. Should hae kent Ah’d be back bein’ asked the questions rather than bein’ the yin tae ask.” He said to himself with a chuckle as he exhaled and brushed a wrinkle out of his kilt before approaching Leah and asking “If ye’ve got a moment, can we go over if Ah’m fit fer duty in the head what like?”~Randal Farquharson, Jack of all Trades~
Leah was finishing entering some data and glanced up at Roman. She smiled and tapped a few keys, closing out her session. “Of course, come with me.”
She led him out of Sickbay and down the corridor to a door that had previously been to a storage room. Hart entered in her code and the door slipped open. The lights flicked on, casting light at 80% normal, feeling more relaxing than the full bright light would have been in such a small space.
She didn’t have room for much but there were soft armchairs in a dark green that were set at a ninety degree to each other and before a small and low wood table. Leah had affixed a cloth to the wall with magnetic hangers and the fabric depicted a window overlooking a simple green field on a sunny day.
Opposite the chairs and next to the door was an art piece made of mosaic tiles that had a variety of patterns. They were arranged in a gradient of colour to evoke a tree.
“Have a seat, Randy, and make yourself at home. I’d offer you something to drink but alas that’s harder here,” she said with a chuckle as she sat in one of the chairs.
“What’s it like being back here?” she asked as she leaned back into the chair and gave a genuine and warm smile.

Randy chuckled, “Aye but at least ye have an office like” He said as he took a seat and smiled, it was familiar but foreign at the same time. “It’s no’ too different, Ah suppose, as tae when Ah left. Rand always wants me tae find a home here an’ Ah’ve come an’ gone now wi’ different jobs each time, tryin’ tae find that special fit, right? It’s a wee bit disappointin’ really that Ah havent’a found it, Ah hope Engineering is a good home. Ah’m nothin’ but thankful tae Starfleet an’ ma commanders bein’ such good sports aboot me tryin’ tae find ma place tho. How are ye settin’ in?” Randy asked back, his nature wanting to default back to being a counselor once more.

“I’m getting there, if slowly. It’s my first ship assignment, so it’s been more of a challenge than I expected. But we’re not talking about me right now,” she said with a wink.
“When you think of the right place for you what words would you use to describe it and how it makes you feel?”

“O’ course ye’ll hae tae forgie me, old habits die hard, Ah suppose. The ‘richt’ place for me is one o’ purpose, one o’ duty, but no tae say Starfleet, but tae ma own internal compass. Ma own motivations, Ah feel compelled tae dae whit Ah can in order tae accomplish the goals Ah have rather than simply followin’ orders if that makes any sense like.” Randy replied, wanting to answer truthfully rather than just what he thought she would ‘want’ to hear.
