While the Lieutenant went from medical she went to the captains cabin and knocked on the door. She knew checking in with her Commanding Officer is the best thing that she could do when she was just getting settled in. She stood there with a smile on her face and kept smiling. She was happy to be on a good vessel that needed some Junior Officers and she thinks that it is best to meet the captain right away.

The door opened and a young jr Lt with red hair and a gold uniform dress stood there. Her knee high black boots clicking to a stop. “Oh, hello. Can I help you?” She smiled welcomingly and then recognition came. “Oh, you’re Lt Williams. Welcome aboard the Sentinel.”

Yeoman Rand

“Yes yeoman. I am. Just to check in with the captain. Or someone before starting my duty.” She said to the young yeoman. Realizing that she is being welcomed warmly and is happy to be on board.

“Well that would be Lt. Anders.” Rand checked a small chronometer on a chair around her neck, “He is probably in his office on Deck 5. Captain Asam is on the bridge right now if you would like to check in with her.”

Yeoman Rand

“Yes of course. Please yeoman lead the way.” She said with a nice smile on her face.

The young woman stepped out of the doorway, withdrawing a keyrod from her pocket. She inserted it into the control panel by the door and there was a soft beep from the computer. “This way. Only one lift opens directly onto the bridge. The rest will take you to deck 1 outside of the bridge.” She led the way to the lift and when it arrived she stepped in, grabbed a handle and twisted it, “Bridge.” The lift took off and soon stopped its short journey. The doors swished open onto the bridge. A woman with short cut brown hair (just a bit longer than an old style military cut) sat on the center chair, reading a PaDD and listening to a report from the engineering officer standing beside her.

Rand motioned toward the Captain. “Welcome aboard, Lt. Williams. If you need anything, let me know.” She took a step back onto the lift and disappeared to the rest of her duties.

“Thank you Yeoman. Hello Captain I’m Lieutenant Junior Grade Alyssa Williams. Your new security officer. Yeoman Rand was nice enough to bring me here for me to formally introduce myself.” She said looking at the captain.

Asam looked up, her appraising gaze taking in the younger woman. “Ah, yes. Lt. Anders is looking forward to meeting you. Where are you joining us from, Lt Williams?”

“I am just getting here from home actually but I did come from the Lincoln ma’am. The USS Lincoln heard that I was getting transferred here so they met up with the Sentinel and transported me over ma’am.” The Lieutenant Junior Grade was smart with her words.

“And where is home for you, Lt?” the captain asked as she signed the PaDD that she had and handed it off.

“Home? From the Lincoln. But I know I’ll make the Sentinel my home from here on our. I mean you do have a beautiful ship captain.” Williams said still standing there in front of the captain.

The woman grinned, “All ships are beautiful to the crew that serves on them. Don’t you think?” Asam asked.

“Yes ma’am. Even the Sentinel ma’am. A beautiful ship. And I have read some specs on the ship as well. I must say I’m impressed.” Alyssa stated to the captain.

Asam smiled, “She’s quite a ship. Only a couple of years old. The crew takes good care of her. What questions can I answer for you, Lt.?”

Alyssa smiled back at the captain and mentioned “Nothing at the moment captain.” She said while smiling at her commanding officer.

Asam nodded, “Good. You’ll need to report to Lt. Anders and then to medical for a physical and also a psych check with Lt Hart. If you have trouble finding your quarters, let Yeoman Rand know. Dismissed, Lt.”
