San Francisco was not always foggy, and this time of year was warmer than others but without the intense heat of summer you had in other places, like Spain. The breeze caressed her skin as she crossed the large complex that was Starfleet Medical and she couldn’t help but think that everyone needed to spend more time outside when they could. Yes, it was well established that time outside improved mental health for many species, but in this particular case, Leah was tossing out her rule book and flying by the seat of her pants. So she was going to do the only logical thing she could: she’d ask. Her attending, Dr. T’Sura, would be so proud.
Going through her sign in procedures, Hart stopped in the communal office to grab a few things and then did rounds before stopping to check in with T’Sura. A little while later she ventured back across through the causeway from the Psychiatry build into the Medical building.
There was a knock at Kreed’s door, just like yesterday, and Leah poked her head in a little after 1000 hours. “Good morning, Kreed. Feel up to another chat today?”

Kreed was sitting in a hoverchair with a heating blanket over his lap and legs. “Of course.” he said and set a scaled hand on the control stick and made his way towards her. “Shall we go to the cafe, then?” and he glided out of the room and past her, towards the nurse’s station. “Ms. Hart and I will be in the cafe downstairs.” he said to a Andorian woman. “Ok. But don’t push yourself too hard, ok? You know what happened last time.” she replied. Kreed inclined his head and said “Yes, of course. Thank you.” and he moved to the turbolifts.
Kreed
“What happened last time?” she said, her short legs having to work a bit harder to keep pace. She might be more muscularly built than other Humans and had more stamina, but she was still quite short. Depending on the incident in question, she might have to reevaluate her idea.

Kreed waved off her concern as they entered the lift. He selected the lobby and they began to move. “Nothing drastic, I assure you. But when I was first able to walk again; I decided that I would get up on my own and walk around the ward. I made it almost a quarter if the way around when my legs gave out and I fell. They had to carry back to my room and I missed a week of therapy.”
“Well, I think we won’t have to worry about a repeat incident then. Lesson learned, but also we don’t have a lot of reasons for you to be walking around just now unless we get the okay from your medical team.
The doors opened onto the lobby and he glided out of the lift and towards the cafe.
Kreed
Entering, she gestured to a table. “Get yourself settled. What can I grab for you?” Leah asked.

At that moment, a Bolian came running forward. “Ensign Kreed! It is so nice to have you here! We didn’t know you were coming!” and he gingerly reached forward and shook Kreed’s hand. “Mr. Deaws. It is nice to see you. I hope ny gift for you and your staff arrived?” The Bolian nodded and he smiled broadly. “Yes yes yes… thank you, but it was really unnecessary.” Kreed shook his head slowly and said “Not at all. I appreciate your efforts to get me the food you have. It was the least I could do.” Deaws led them to a table and said “Please, enjoy. And it is good to see you off the ward, Ensign.” and he turned and went back to the kitchen.
Kreed looked at Hart and said “The cafe manager. His sibling was on the Taliskar. He has made sure to send me at least one meal a day since I arrived and woke up; so I contacted my hatch-mate who is a master distiller and sent the staff here a case of Saurian brandy.”
Kreed
Leah grinned. “That was nice of him, and you. What sort of things do they make for you that you really enjoy, and does him knowing you’re down here mean you have something to eat on its way?”

“My species is carnivorous, and Mr. Dawes was kind enough to keep some of the basics on hand; insects, small amphibians, and the like.” Creed replied matter-of-factly. “What about you? What foods do you like?”
Kreed
Leah grinned. “Hmm, well I’m ethnically Spanish and I grew up with a lot of Spanish dishes mixed in with other foods we had access to on Aldebaran Three. But my family comes from a couple regions and my mother was always very insistent about sharing family recipes. So given these regions, there’s a lot of grilled seafood and meats, olives and olive oil, vegetables, and rice. My favourite dishes have always been paella, a Spanish omelette we call tortilla, a cold soup called gazpacho, and small sharing dishes called tapas are quite common before, after, or during a meal. But right now, I’m going to go grab myself tortilla and some salad. Since Mr. Dawes has your food sorted, did you want me to grab you anything to drink?”
