Marcus Anders, in his capacity as the Sentinel’s Chief of Security, aimed to ensure every member of the ship’s crew were able to defend themselves in a combat situation. Of course, the first priority of this ship, as with every ship in Starfleet was always exploration, but it didn’t hurt to always be prepared. To that end, as soon as Marcus met Lieutenant J.G. Flint Locke, he knew it would be important for the two officers to not only become aquainted with each other, but also for Marcus to test the young Science Officer’s skills.

Marcus sent a com message out to Locke as soon as he had the chance, “Anders to Locke, meet me in the Security office as soon as you can lad, got a special assignment for ye.”

Flint knew this was coming, the moment he stepped foot on board he could sense a preparedness about the crew, they all seemed to be combat-ready and he was to be no exception.

He picked up the message and responded, “On my way…” he said.

Flint started to find his way to the security office, passing the crew as he did, everyone giving him a welcoming nod.

Stepping up to the door, he pressed the entry buzzer and waited.

Marcus stood in front of the doors when they parted and greeted the new CSO with a wide smile, “There you are lad, come on in.”

Flint took a step into the office, noticing around the walls a large amount of commendations, he was impressed with the layout, it felt like this guy knew what he was doing.

“Good to finally meet you” Flint said

Flints background with security wasn’t the finest he had encountered, sometimes he pushed back on how some of the previous suggestions were carried out, but non the less, he always made sure he was up to date with the latest training and information as best he could.

“Hope you’re not too nervous about this Lieutenant,” Marcus said with a grin, “Security really isn’t that scary once you get to know it!”

Flint threw a small chuckle heading to the chair presented to him and took a seat.

“Science officers, always tinkering with things they probably shouldn’t usually give us away…” he said with a smirk.

Flint’s past was a rough one when it came to being beside security, he was thrown into the deep end with one of his duties.

He was to assist in recovering a lost relic, it was Flint’s role to narrow down the search of the area with details but was all on foot. His First away mission soon turned into a situation where it left him clinging on to his life, something that he tried to forget.
