From the corner of the room, a redheaded woman tapped her foot impatiently, giving Roman a look. A look that had him sheepishly shrugging. Then, her Scottish accented voice said, “Damn English pride. Call her back.”

Roman grinned sheepishly, then huffed irritatedly and tapped at the console, pressing the ‘redial’ button. Then he waited for Hart to pick up again.

Leah appeared on the screen with a neutral expression. [O]Hello, again.[o] From this point, Hart could have taken things in many different directions, but instead she fell silent and gazed at him expectantly.

“Kreed will place me on medical leave if we don’t do this. He’ll get me removed from my ship.” Roman looked at her, “I can’t let that happen.”

Hart nodded slowly. [o]Tell me about Starfleet. Why is it important to you? And what is about what you do in Starfleet that you love?[o]

That was an easier question. “I’m an exobiologist and exozoologist. I study alien animals and their environments. I like studying those things.” He answered. He could go on forever about his animals and began to do just that.

[o]But why do so in Starfleet. You can be a scientist anywhere, and possibly get far more accolades for that research than you might in Starfleet. Why do so there, on the Sentinel as the first officer responsible for so many lives, no less,[o] Leah asked, her tone calm and patient. While she was used to doing evals in person where seeing full body language was easier, she was still very aware of what body language Roman was showing her.
