Six ships over two weeks and Leah needed a vacation! She had never been so excited for the to drop out of warp to rendezvous with the Sentinel. Some ships she had bene on longer than others, but from the USS Harmony it had been the USS Endurance, then the USS Antares, then the USS Copernicus, then the USS Exeter and finally the USS Springfield.

Leah had been on starships before, travelling to Earth, and of course her cadet training, but this was different. She was here to stay. This would be her new home, and that prospect was as exciting as it was daunting. There would be no jaunts over to Spain on her days off to visit with her grandmother, no hiking in the hills, no swimming in the ocean, brine clinging to her hair. Blowing out a breath, she stepped up to the transporter pad, a standard issue duffle bag slung over one shoulder. The rest of her belonging would be sent over via the cargo transporter.

“Good luck, Lieutenant. The Sentinel is a great ship,” the chief at the transporter said.

She gave him a beaming smile. “Gracias, Anthony. I’m looking forward to it. Ready now.”

Everything swirled around her and then she was standing on another transporter pad ready to start this new chapter of her life.

“Incoming now, Rand,” Vortz, the transporter chief said. When the transport was complete he signaled the Springfield of successful transport.

A red haired jr Lt, by the stripes on her gold female dress duty uniform, stood straight and impeccable, with a PaDD in hand. She smiled politely at the new nurse. “Lt Hart, welcome aboard the Sentinel. I’m Yeoman Rand.”

Yeoman Rand

The nurse stepped down in her white uniform, and gave Rand a smile. “Hello, it’s nice to meet you, Yeoman Rand.

The door to the Transporter room slid open and in stepped one Saurian doctor who was very familiar to Hart. “Lieutenant Hart. Good to see you. As soon as you are done with the Yeoman, please come to my office.” and he turned and walked back out the door.

“Yes, Sir,” Leah said, a lopsided grin settling onto her features.

Rand blinked once slowly, and that was her only reaction to the doctor coming in and subsequently leaving in a rush.

“And welcome aboard!” he yelled from the hallway as the door slid back closed.

Kreed, CMO

Leah laughed. Typical. Shifting the duffle on her shoulder she moved towards the exit with Rand. “I have to say how glad I am to be here, and that does include the fact that I am done ship hopping. I’d joke about needing vacation, but by the looks of it I’ll be jumping in with both feet.”

“We’ll get you settled in your quarters and then I’ll give you the short tour. Dr. Kreed seems to be in a hurry to speak to you.” Rand held out the PaDD and stylus. “If you’ll sign the transfer and arrival orders we can get going.”

Yeoman Rand

Taking the stylus, Leah signed where she needed to and offered the stylus back. “I don’t think it’s so much a hurry as Dr. Kreed being rather efficient. Besides we know each other and he knows I will see him promptly when I’m able.”

“Please led on, I’m excited to see my new home,” the short woman said, rolling from her toes to her heels and back. Her muscular body was compact and she walked to strong strides used to moving quickly from place to place, but she quickly fell into stride with the yeoman.

“So hoe long have you been on the Sentinel?” she asked.
