Lt Kreed had given Cpt Asam a list of potential applicants. The captain had then in turn asked Rand to pull all the relevant personnel files and recommendations and educational transcripts and such. Basically full files. The captain had gone through them all, discarded a couple and then had Rand take the rest to Lt. Kreed for review. Rand dropped them off and then went about her day.She was just about to fall asleep when she heard the comm station go off. The tone told her it was marked priority. She sighed and dragged herself out of bed to the desk and sat down. She opened the file and looked at it. She was tired, and had to read it again just to make sure. She transferred the file to a data disk and then got dressed back into her uniform. The captain had told her getting this new personnel was top priority and to handle anything immediately. Rand took the disk and walked down the corridor to Asam’s quarters and rapped smartly on the door.
Yeoman Rand
Rende was still up, but was surprised to hear the familiar rap of Rand’s knuckles on the door. “Enter!” she called out. The door slid open and her young yeoman stepped inside and held out a data disk.
“This application for the position Lt Kreed is filling just arrived.” Rand brushed an invisible piece of lint off her uniform while Rende put the disk in and read over the file. “He requested the application himself.” She glanced up at Rand, “Rand go get Lt Kreed and have him report as soon as he is able.”

“Aye, Ma’am.” Rand turned on her heel and left and made her way down to deck 9 and checked sickbay first. The nurse at the desk asked her to wait, and she went to get Lt Kreed.
Yeoman Rand
Kreed came put a moment later. “Keep them comfortable until the swelling goes down. Then light duty for forty-eight hours.” “Yes, Doctor.” the nurse said and then gestured to Rand. “Yeoman.” Kreed said and then just looked at her.
Kreed, CMO
Rand waited patiently for the Dr to come out. She looked up at the taller officer, “The captain would like to see you as soon as you are able. It’s about the new nurse you’ve requested.”
Yeoman Rand
Kreed nodded and started walking out of sickbay without a backwards glance.
A minute or two later, they arrived at the Captain’s door and Kreed looked at Rand.
Kreed, CMO
Rand rapped smartly on the door and at Asam’s summons she pressed the control and entered. “Lt. Kreed as requested, Captain.”
Yeoman Rand
“Thank you, Rand. You don’t have to wait, but I may need you again in half an hour or so. If it goes beyond that get some sleep it will wait until morning.”
Asam looked up at Kreed and waved at a chair across from her. “Have a seat, Lt and tell me about this application I just recieved.”

Kreed sat and said “Lieutenant JG Hart. She is very talented in the realm of psychotherapy and a fine Nurse Practitioner. I have dealt with her as both a medical collegue and as a patient. She is the one who vleared me for duty after the Taliskar incident. She has also been working with me in a research capacity… or rather, not with me so much as researching me specifically. I think she would make a fine addition to the medical staff… and she has no tolerance for stalling when it comes to care. A trait that will come in quite useful in dealing with Commander Alden.”
Kreed, CMO
Rende looked at him. She was quite curious over the comment about being the subject of research, but that wasn’t the point. “What about the rest of the crew? It would be poor judgement on my part to bring on crew solely for the benefit of only one person. And if she needs the transfer for her research she could come as a visitor for that and leave after.” She scanned the record again. “She has never served on a ship before. She needs to be of use to your department for more than just the Cmdr. She will burn out as well as be very very lonely and isolated otherwise.”
Asam, CO
Kreed cocked his head to the side and looked at Asam with a quizzical expression. “Why would I suggest her if she wouldn’t be of use? And I don’t see why her not having served on a ship before is germane to this discussion. You are the ship’s Captain, yet at one point you had never served on a ship prior. I’m sure we have several members of the crew for whom this is their first ship. So what other reservations do you have?”
Kreed, CMO
“I have no reservations. Her record speaks for itself. I do not want to lose her later because she feels she is wated here. Every member of my crew is a person Doctor, not just a body to fill a spot. I want to ensure that she gets as much put of her time here as we do. If this is who you want, I have no objections.”
Asam, CO
Kreed thought for a moment and then said “I am quite sure she will feel far from wasted, Captain.” He paused and then said “Is there anything else you wish to discuss about Lt. Hart? I will tell you anything you wish to know that I do.”
Kreed, CMO
“No. As I said her record speaks for itself. There is nothing in her file that would indicate to me she should not be here, and I trust you to know who best fits your team. I will approve the transfer and have Rand send it tonight.”
