The Saurian CMO had just finished his first meeting with the Medical team. It went… okay. They were excited to have a new Chief; less excited that the easy shifts were over.

Kreed had made it clear. The department would run as expected of a top-tier medical facility. The backlog of records was the priority, followed by updating physicals and ensuring all continuous treatments and the like were current. Once the administrative parts were current and on-point, then the team would begin mandatory training on a regular basis to keep skills sharp and in line with current best practices. Kreed wasn’t one to play around, and he knew that a long lack of leadership had led to things becoming complacent. But he wasn’t a task master unless he had to be. So the first thing he had done was make arraignments for a meal to be had in sickbay in a week. Only the medical staff. He had also brought every member of the staff a gift: a bottle of Saurian brandy, the bottles etched with their name and the ship’s name.

Once the medical staff had been set on task, Kreed went into his office. It was quite obvious it had sat unoccupied for a while. He took a breath and then went to the comm panel and spoke to the entire ship. [O] Attention. Attention. This is Lieutenant Kreed, the Chief Medical Officer. All personnel should expect to be individually called to Medical within the next forty-eight standard hours to review their files and update their physicals. This is mandatory. Anyone without a current physical after that timeframe will be marked not cleared for duty in the computer. This will lock you out of your workstations, and you will remain locked out until you are cleared for duty. Department Heads will have a calendar of appointments sent to them within the next thirty minutes of their team’s appointment times. I look forward to meeting you all. CMO out. [C] He moved from the panel to the desk, took a seat, and in twenty minutes had the calendar sent to all departments.
