After their last mission, the Sentinel went back to starbase for crew rotations and repairs. As they were preparing to receive new orders, a crewman from the starbase approached the CO and XO. “Captain, Commander, Admiral Brayden is requesting your presence. As soon as possible.” The way he leaned on those final words made it seem like it might be wise to hurry.-GM
Asam and Alden had just been discussing repairs for the ship and then, Rende anyway, planning to take care of some personal errands on the station. “Thank you crewman. We’ll go right away. I know the way.” So much for down time. “Shall we l, Cmdr.?”
Reaching Admiral Brayden’s office, Rende stepped inside and nodded to the Yeoman at the desk. “Good day, Lt. Cpt. Asam and Cmdr. Alden. Admiral Brayden requested our presence.”

The Yeoman went slightly pale. “Yes. Yes he did. Go right in.” Something was off. About the crew circulating around that office, about the station, about the air. It all spoke of tension, but no one could tell where it came from.
When they entered the office, they found Brayden staring out a window. He didn’t move. “Captain. Commander. It’s about time. We have a problem. There’s a spy on this station. I have strong intelligence that says a Romulan spy was planted here. We don’t know what name he adopted, but we’re relatively certain he was just rotated onto the Sentinel.”

About time? They had come immediately. Rende mentally rolled her eyes at the child like impatience. “If you don’t know who the imposter is, what makes you think he is on Sentinel and not another ship? Or a he and not a she?” Rende had dealt with spies before, efficiently, but not the way Star Fleet would want. Every crew member would have to be checked and vetted.
The news struck Roman with a fear he wasn’t used to. A spy aboard the ship… again. His reaction was not visible externally, he kept a calm face. This spy wasn’t after him… At least, not personally. Rand should be safe. “Do we have any information about this spy?”
~ Cmdr Alden, XO/CSO
There were other questions, but better not to bombard the Admiral all at once. She would have to get Rand started on pulling personnel files and arranging biometric confirmation with sickbay.

“We know that he probably would’ve gotten away with it if it had taken any longer for this file to surface.” Brayden turned a computer monitor around. “He’s been reported coming to this station, we believe he’s posing as a Vulcan and given the close DNA, will be near indistinguishable from a real Vulcan. As for why we believe he’s on the Sentinel. Simply put it’s the best target. It’s a front line vessel. More classified information, more information on whole, and if he gets whatever he’s after… well we can assume that’s not good” Brayden’s expression read satisfied?
-GM
Rende was hardly satisfied. She moved over to the console and began to read the file that Brayden was showing them. “Sentinel is front line, but more classified information passes through the station than through the Sentinel.” It was a problem for after they caught him and interrogated him. “Have you been able to backtrack his route to the station. We could run facial recognition to try and get a more positive ID.”
Asam, CO
“I don’t know what he’s after.” The Admiral pulled up a photo of a young looking Romulan man. He was wiry and had black hair cut in very standard Romulan fashion. “But a shuttle crashed on the moon. We only found it because one transport signature appeared minutes after the crash. The destination was here on this station. Surveillance footage showed a Vulcan, with a similar appearance to this spy” he pulled up another picture and left them side by side. The two could’ve been twins, save for the Romulan brow ridges being absent in the Vulcan. “He was tracked to the loading dock for your ship. Why the sentinel? You’ll have to find him and ask.”
-GM
“We’ll find him.” It was said matter-of-factly with a hard stare that no one had ever doubted, and very very few ever stood up to. Rende stared at the screen for a long moment as if imprinting the images on her eyes. Then she looked at Admiral Brayden. “You have a copy of these files for me? I’m also sure my chiefs will want to see the station’s security feeds, transporter logs, and speak to anyone who might have seen this individual. That won’t be a problem.” It was said respectfully, but it also wasn’t a question.
