Heading into one of the main control buildings and guided to the main control review consoles the colonist engineer nodded, and did as requested. On the screen the display showed the status of each of the fusion reactions and their output. Currently they were only outputting about 60% of their total capacity since there wasnt much need to do more then that with the current colonies needs. “..Normally we run all the generators around the 60% mark to reduce our overall work load and heavier unscheduled maintenance tasks. Rarely do we have to push them up to 75% or so except during heavier inclement weather that could damage things say from winds, lightening, etc. Thankfully that doesn’t happen much..” the colonist engineer explained.

Karl nodded as he read the results on the screen “What’s the S.O.P. for overloads or any potential power outages?” He asked.

The NE nearby turned to regard Karl, “…Standard SOP in the case of outages is to relay the differences of need from secondary or tertiary sources. Any overloads or needed shut downs we alert the colony via either a loudspeaker or runners if such is needed. Given our limited needs so far on power unless something drastic were needed like colony defensive screens in a orbital attack we have plenty of juice to spare..” he said.

Karl nodded slowly “Good, good. That and your overall power supply means you have some leeway for expansion that would allow for a sizable reserve of power” He said mostly to himself “Have there been any concerns regarding maintenance? Any specialized spare parts or something that simply might have fallen through the cracks that might affect the system’s overall health?” He asked as he looked at the screen “Any parts of the system or the grid itself that required the duct tape treatment?” He asked with genuine curiosity, he didn’t know enough about the planet’s infrastructure to know if they had the manufacturing capabilities nor did he really care, he only cared that the system would remain functional.
