“Hey,” Tracy said suddenly, “didn’t the guy who played Myles also play Robinhood when he was younger?” Randy laughed and nodded, “Yeah he did. A comedy version of the story. We should watch it.”
Rand paused and turned bright red, refusing to look at anyone. Randy had no idea why she was embarrassed. She had never told anyone about Roman’s ‘Robinhood’ look.
Mustering the last of her composure, she hugged Randy and wished Tracy a Happy Christmas and then grabbed her box so they could leave.
Rand
Roman had an idea why she looked so embarrassed and now had the idea to give her that look as soon as they were back in their own quarters. Looking a little disappointed when Rand got up, he stood as well, wished a happy Christmas to Morgan and Randy, and then followed Rand out.
As soon as they were back in their own quarters, Roman gave her exactly the robin hood look she had been thinking about and made his way to their little music box. He played the same music as on Valentine’s day. “Still up for that dance?”
~ Roman
Rand hurried into their quarters, breathing a sigh of relief at the normalcy and familiarity. No over done decorations or expectations. She felt bad she didn’t have anything for Randy or Roman. How could she forget that? She was worried Roman would feel hurt, but he hadn’t mentioned it before so....now she was anxious. She hurried to the closet and put the box inside to try and hide the fact she was getting herself upset and too nervous to say anything about it.
Roman hadn’t gotten her anything either, he’d forgotten entirely. He didn’t expect anything from her. Like Randy, her being there and okay was more than enough for him. He was turned around turning on the music box, so he didn’t notice she was making herself nervous.
When she turned around, Rand flushed looking shy and enamoured all at once when he looked at her like that. His Robinhood look. Then she smiled and nodded. She walked over to him, putting her hand in his and the other on his shoulder. She adored dancing with Roman.
Rand
Roman started moving around the room, his look changing from the robin hood one, to one of adoration, like she was the only thing that mattered in the world. Then he lifted her and twirled her. He’d been working out, getting his muscle tone back, so he could lift her like he did before the lab accident. He lifted her easily like he used to and spun with her, and then set her gently down and continued the dance.

Rand moved with him, and at first it was wonderful and smooth and perfect. Then she stumbled, she missed a step, but they kept going. Then he lifted her and she missed the lead, confused to why he let go of her hand and so when he set her down she missed her steps and stumbled again. Only Roman’s hold kept her from falling. She looked away from him, trying to figure out what she was supposed to be doing. Instead of watching Roman and following his lead, she was trying to force herself to remember. The more she forced it, the more elusive the memories, and the more she upset herself.
Rand
Roman’s grip tightened slightly, making sure she didn’t fall. He smiled down at her, squeezed her hand gently, and said, “Miranda. Relax. Follow my lead.” He kept moving around the room with her, each time she missed a step he kept moving as if nothing had happened, not making a big deal out of it. He made sure if she stumbled she wouldn’t fall.

Rand looked up at him when he said her name. He was smiling at her and telling her to relax and follow. Oh she could do that. Following was so much simpler than trying to figure it out on her own. Roman lead and she followed, that’s how dancing worked. It was incredibly frustrating though when she woud miss a step or make the wrong step. She would be fine and realize she was doing well and want to keep it that way, so she’d think to much and then stumble again. Roman never let her fall though. Finally, finally, her nerves seemed to work themselves out, and she stopped stumbling and misstepping. She moved around the room in his arms as flawlessly and closely as they had at the Valentine’s dance.
