Shirley raised her index finger to signal her Chief of Security to hold on for a moment as she felt the vibration of her communicator going off, “One moment Marcus.” She swiftly left the tavern and found a discrete location to answer the call. She did a double take of her surroundings prior to answering because she did not want any locals to spot her on what would appear to them as a bizarre device. Once the coast was clear she dug out her communicator and held it to her lips, “Rogers here.”

=^=Sir, Karl here from engineering. We’ve had a bit of an experience. We were suffering from an energy drain outside the hull. I went outside for a peak and found an energy… being draining from the hull. then suddenly it took the appearance of a young woman. and spoke with me. I had the wherewithal to have the Bridge record the interaction. It believed me to be a guard of sorts. It was then joined by another being. The female went by Tatyana and the second one, a male, went by Strahd. they were dressed as some sort of medieval clothing, I’d presume attire of nobility from the European continent between the thirteenth and fifteenth century ” He hesitated, he wasn’t anything close to an expert but he’d seen outfits similar to that during plays on Earth “I didn’t understand much of the conversation without context but it appeared the woman was getting married to the man’s brother. I caught at least some names of places, Barovia seems to be a country name or something similar. I also caught Castle Ravencroft and a temple of Andral.=^=

Shirley listened intently to the Chief as he described the situation. She was without a doubt intrigued about the situation that Karl was describing to her and her facial expression of curiosity was quite evident at this point. This was something that did not happen every day and it would appear that a discussion would be necessary with these beings aboard the ship. They surely could have been the cause of the warp signature that the Sentinel detected.

=^= Understood Chief. I will gather the landing party and we will return to the Sentinel shortly. Rogers out. =^=

She closed the communicator for a moment ending her call with the Sentinel and then flipped it back open as she silently pinged Lieutenant Anders in an effort to not allow the locals to hear the typical notification sound of the communicator. This would allow Anders to find a place to speak with her undetected by the civilization while she awaited his vocal reply. Shirley would have to gather her landing party at this point so that the Sentinel could bring them back up and investigate the situation at hand.

After speaking with Roman, Shirley flipped open her communicator and held it close to her lips. She reached out to the Chief as the wind blew the threads of her jet black hair slightly.
