Yeoman Rand (Human. Ruined Uniforms)
En. Kovan (Andorian. Engr/Commo. Door chime hacked to play a song when passed. Audio devices planted in Engineering to play sounds only he could hear)
NE Vash (Human. Science. Door hacked to only open when danced for)
XO Roman (Human. XO. Science. Personal PaDD hacked to add fake meetings across the ship to his daily schedule)
En. Gom (Tellarite. Engr. Itching powder in spare uniform)
En. Macheskey (Human. Medical. Trapped door that dumped green dye on her)

“Given Baker’s behavior and the self sabotage of his PaDD, I ran some cross reference searches and came up with this.”

Borgia (Computer science, he worked with and never seemed to cross paths outside of the lab. Does not have the skill or training to alter her computer credentials.)
Jilva (engineer, he was Vulcan and it seemed unlikely but Vulcan’s had a history of extreme animosity toward Andorians. And they were always in mess hall together either at lunch or dinner. Could create a program to alter her font permanently but does not have the skill to hack the computer clearance codes. He is seeking a promotion and currently dating another officer)
Ginna (a Tellarite engineer that was working on Kovan’s deck the day his chime started acting up)
Ayden (another eng, Human, was there the day before).
NE Baker (Human, Mechanical Science) frequently worked the same shifts with NE Vash and worked a shift with XO Roman before their PaDD was hacked. Stated his plans to prank Rand and was overheard complaining about XO Alden)

Ensign Macheskey logged a complaint against Ginna for what was described as inappropriate behavior.
Ensign Gom also logged a complaint against Ginna for inappropriate jokes about his cleanliness.
En Baker had a formal complaint and write up for inappropriate and harassing behavior toward En Mendez
The analysis reported unusual logs for Jilva and Borgia. Things like showing up to shifts late, leaving in the middle of shifts and other minor things. Nothing that would condemn them, but certainly raised suspicion. Borgia’s roommate has given a statement that Borgia dislikes Baker and family stress is the reason for their unusual logs
Ayden was absent from the report, making Kovan think he’s not involved at all.

Rand nodded, “We could ask her, but,” she turned to Lt Anders, “we don’t have access to the security footage. Asking directly was our best way to get information. Some of these areas could have been caught on the security feeds.” She then turned to her PaDD and pulled up the ship’s information on room assignments. “Looks like Borgia’s roommate is…Maguire, medical. and the duty roster says he is off today. I didn’t see him in the mess or rec. So who first?”

Yeoman Rand

“Our illustrious pranksters have no qualms about altering ship data to suit their purposes. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve also found a way to tamper with security footage.” They altered ship records to mutilate Rand’s uniforms, but not without creating the contradiction that began this investigation. These pranksters were clever to hide their tracks, but not skilled enough to remove all traces of tampering. “But they couldn’t have covered their every move. . . if they did think to alter the footage then there’s sure to be signs of it. We can follow their trail of tampering. They’re bound to have slipped up somewhere and that will be our next lead.” That’s the problem with thinking you’re too clever to get caught.

Ensign ch’Sirch, COMMO/ENGR

“Let me talk to Jilva’s girl friend. She probably wants him to get that promotion as much as he does.” A moment later she had a report file pulled up. “Promotions require recommendations, within and without of your department. And seeing as I am the only yeoman on board, I assist with the paperwork. I will see what I can find out.” Rand had to agree, there had to be something. “Do you want to check with Maguire about Borgia?”

Right. They shouldn’t spread their focus thin at this point. Interviews first, and if those do not yield the desired results then they can turn to more creative means. “I can go speak with Maguire.” He said.

Bump - Abigail

Rand nodded, “I’ll meet you after I talk with Tian.” Rand headed off toward the lifts and deck 5. Tian answered her door, and was clearly surprised to the see the Captain’s yeoman at her door. “Yeoman.” It came out a sneer. “What are you doing here?” Rand honestly didn’t understand that hostility. She’d only spoken to Tian once or twice in her two years on board. “Well I was hoping to get some information from you.” Tian went to close the door. “It’s for En Jilva. He’s up for a promotion.”

Tian paused, “I know that. What about it?” Rand plastered on her sweetest smile. “We’ve been having some computer problems and his promotion file, parts got deleted. I was going to ask him, but he’s busy with a diagnostic, so I thought maybe you could help me fill in some of the details.” Tian was eager to do that. She was rather taken with the idea of dating a Vulcan. That he found her so intriguing. In the end Rand had a list of people that would give Jilva a letter of recommendation and who would not, and a list of all the dates that he’d worked over time or on special projects. “You know I didn’t expect you to help the rest of us.” Rand sighed. “I’m the captain’s assistant, Ensign Tian, her yeoman, but my job is to support the entire crew.”

Rand left going in search of Kovan and Anders.

Yeoman Rand

Kovan went to speak with Maquire and found the man standing outside his quarters with a grim expression. At the sound of Kovan’s approach he looked up and scowled. “What do you want?” Maguire snapped, and tensed as though waiting for something. Kovan clenched his fingers and held back his initial reactionary response. Though he and Maguire didn’t cross paths often, when they did Kovan was either rude or dismissive. “I’m here to talk to you about Borgia.” Kovan said, getting straight to the point.

Maguire snarled and stepped into Kovan’s space, bringing them face to face. “You’ll leave him alone if you had any kind of decency. Borgia’s dealing with enough problems and he doesn’t need you adding fuel to the fire.” Kovan scowled and pushed Maguire back, forcing space between them.

“I don’t care what his problems are. There is a group of crewmen going around playing nasty pranks on others and Borgia is one of our suspects.”

Maguire laughed, humorless and cold, “Like that chime that played on your door? That’s hardly what I’d consider ‘nasty’. Maybe if you actually treated people decently they wouldn’t pull pranks. No one likes a harda-“

Kovan cut him off, “Someone shredded Yeoman Rand’s uniforms and then they hacked into her log-in credentials to mess with her PaDD fonts and print-outs. You don’t like me, half this ship hates my guts, but people like Rand and Macheskey are being targeted as well and they sure as hell don’t deserve it.” It was dirty to call upon Rand’s name to earn some pity but anyone would agree that the pranks on her were too far. And it had the desired effect on Maguire who seemed to deflate, his anger displaced by shock and horror.

After several moments of silence Maguire spoke, “Why’s Borgia a suspect?” Kovan outlined the investigation, what they had on NE Baker and Boriga’s suspect logs. Maguire listened before speaking again, “I can tell you for certain that Borgia shouldn’t be on your list. I don’t want to spill the guy’s private life but he’s been dealing with some. . . family issues. It’s been stressing him out and that’s why he’s been late for shifts and such. I can also tell you that he’d never go along with anything suggested by Baker. Boriga thinks Baker’s a real tool and I’m in agreement.”

Kovan searched Maguire’s face for any sign of a lie but saw nothing untrustworthy there. “Thank you,” Kovan said before turning on his heel to leave the man be. While heading back to where the others were before splitting up he saw Rand turn a corner and jogged to catch up. “Rand.” He said by greeting, “Talked with Maguire and we can take Borgia off our list of suspects.” He repeated what Maguire told him about Boriga’s family problems.
