OOC: Pasting in the split!

David followed Marcus toward the tavern. He was nervous about the continued success of their disguises. All he could hope was that he looked enough like a weary traveler.

OOC: I hope y’all don’t mind if I join you! :)

Haadok tugged at her hood and trailed after Anders, though her gaze lingered until distance forced her to look away. Trade deeply fascinated Haadok. She found that the exchange between merchants and patrons revealed much about their respective values and beliefs. How did they interact, especially when one was visibly distinct from the other? What did the patron acquire from the exchange? How did the merchant market their goods? Haadok considered but soon neglected these intricacies as they approached the ‘Blood on the Vine’ tavern.

As the team entered the tavern, they found the entry hall well appointed all things considered compared to the dreary run down nature of the village outside. A few half decently cared for plants were off to either side, and a human woman in simple but well cleaned peasant dress greeted them behind a small stand. To their left a door lead to what seemed a noisy area of some sort, and to the right another door which was open lead it seems to a large bar, straight ahead was a wide staircase leading up to the second floor.

Haadok ducked into the tavern and paused, an eyebrow creeping toward her hairline. The entry hall seemed almost lavish when likened to the adjacent marketplace, though she suspected their comparative luxury had something to do with access to patrons and, given the doors and sweeping staircase, an array of services from which to indulge. Her thoughts were interrupted a moment later by a voice echoing from what appeared to be a small stand.

The woman after taking stock of the team spoke up, “..Greeting travelers, welcome to the Blood On The Vine, will you be drinking today, partaking of our food and entertainment, or renting a room?” She inquired.

Anders stepped up and smiled, “Thank you for the welcome, Miss?”

-Lieutenant Junior Grade Marcus Anders: Chief of Security-

Quietly, Haadok observed the woman before them and kept a tentative hand over the pocket that concealed a tricorder.

”..Ah forgive me fair sir! I am Clavdia Krezkova, a humble waitress here at the Blood On The Vine..” she answered obviously embarrassed that she had forgotten to introduce herself in her welcoming speech to the group.

Shirley had been galavanting around the tavern and the design reminded her a little bit about her own planet’s history thousands of years ago during the medieval times from her studies of Earth history at the Academy. Thanks to Rand, her outfit accurately portrayed that she was a member of this uncharted planet’s species and not a member of the more advanced Starfleet. The Prime Directive was not something to be taken lightly as if it were violated she could lose her command or more. She pivoted off of the heel of her black old-fashioned boots and turned in the direction of Clavdia to face her directly.

Shirley moved forward past Haadok and Anders as she approached the waitress with a slight smile across her lips, “Hi Clavdia, I’m Shirley. It is a pleasure to meet you. Perhaps we could get a table and take a look at the menu options first? This is our first time at the tavern and we would appreciate your recommendations.” Shirley enjoyed playing along in this situation and had typically blended in well with pre-warp civilizations throughout her career. However, there was always a slim possibility that a culture like this one could seem like it is pre-warp and instead be just as advanced as Starfleet. Shirley always made it her goal to keep all of the situational options open and to avoid having the blinders on as a Captain as much as possible. No one is perfect, but giving it your best shot is often enough in most cases.
