USS Sentinel

OOC: A Little Direction is an Understatement

Posted by Lieutenant Junior Grade Haadok (Chief Medical Officer) in OOC: A Little Direction is an Understatement
Hey folks!

I apologise for my sudden disappearance. (I’m getting pretty good at those, haha!) Life has been wild. I thought, for some reason, that switching to a STEM degree while working two jobs was a good idea. I quickly learned that the universe and I have very different conceptions of what is “good” and “a tad ridicious”. We’re on better terms now. Lol!

Anyway, I’m a little lost on what’s happening around these parts. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could let me know where Haadok is needed. Also, feel free to bump threads, and I’ll get to them throughout this week. :)

Thanks in advance!

Hey Trin glad to see you back, safe and healthy! Good luck on your STEM degree and jobs!

As for the sim, currently as an update the Sentinel was sent to explore and chart a region of space known as The Abyss, a massive several light year nebula. The ship though after entering seemed to almost literally get LOST, scans showed one thing like systems or things being ahead but visually weren’t there. Attempts to retrace their steps equally ended in failure. Eventually the thick nebula and ionization storms around the ship eased up and the ship emerged into a system you are in now. The ship picked up what seems a brief warp pulse located somewhere on the planet you’re in orbit of. However, due to further frustrations on accurate scans pinpointing the location was hard to say, three areas seemed to be of interest. 1) Was a western village called Krezk, which after investigation by team 1 turned up to be a dead end (aka due to loss of some crew we regrouped them to other teams by transporter), 2) The central village is called Valiki (home of team 2 atm who are just entering the village), they previously had beamed down in a forest and followed up on another strange reading of some kind of explosion but in the end decided to abandon further investigation, 3) the third village was near a large roboding castle called Barovia Village, team 3 there is just entering the local tavern looking for more information on clues to the warp pulse and to learn more of the local populace.

On the ship meanwhile those who remained behind picked up strange anomalies both in the system and on the ship, for those in the system they sent out probes to the local star, where oddly they picked up fading readings of what seemed a class m atmosphere in the middle of space, but then which vanished, no further follow ups were done. Conversely on the ship a power drain lead Karl to do an EVA onto the ship’s hull where he is now dealing with what seems a ghostly like woman!

Overall the goal of the sim is as follows 1) For those on the surface (teams 2 and 3) you are to investigate the local villages you went to, learn about the local populace without revealing yourself as being from space, and find out information on the source of the warp pulse, bonus if you can find out more information on The Abyss and a way out of it! 2) For those on the ship settle these problems you’re running into and support the two remaining teams as best as you can

Information already gleaned by scans on the surface is that the populace is made up of humans, and what seems a variety of fantasy like races (elves, gnomes, halflings, dwarves, etc) set in a murky foreboding planet. If you haven’t guessed this is my take on a star trek meets dungeons and dragons sim! In particular the gothic horror DnD setting known as Ravenloft!

Now as for your CMO besides the CE and Karl everyone else is planetside, i forget off hand which team you were in though atm. So pick either team 2 or 3 and join the latest posts there assuming you were always there! Hope that helps!
