USS Sentinel
Main Sim - Tracking The Power Drain - Shuttlebay

Looking out into the vastness of the Abyss that surrounded the ship and the system they were in with the strange planet below. The orange-silver background tone seemed almost out of place and alien like to Karl’s senses. In particular was a deep primal fear as he gazed that way that somehow beyond any reasoning the mag boots keeping him safe on the ship’s hull wold suddenly stop working or worse work in reverse propelling him off into space. The other similar feeling was one of foreboding as he would look at the planet below. It was Class-M for sure obviously but there was again something primal warning him that in the pit of his stomach something felt off about the planet like the storms or fog banks he could see here and there were a danger itself. A place of evil.
But then the feelings passed as suddenly as they came and he was back to his senses to get to work.

Karl shook his head, he’d thought himself above such primal fear, or at least better at containing it. He double-checked that his tools were there then moved towards his destination. There was something wrong with that planet, usually, the feeling of standing on a ship’s hull filled him with excitement and childlike glee. Sure there was always that part of the mind that feared falling deep into space, but that planet… it was wrong. Again he shook himself and focused on locating what if anything was attached to the hull. He moved carefully and slowly, he had lost his fair share of tools due to mishandling in the suit and he didn’t know if he had time to go back for anything.
SCPO Karl - Eng
As Karl’s thoughts about the planet shifted to it being unnatural he was again struck by the realization that somehow he felt he was right. There WAS something off about the planet below as if it did not belong, not just in this area of space but in existence, it felt unnatural to his primal senses.
But that was for future Karl to ponder, for now with his attention focused on the nearby ship’s hull his gaze did not have to look far before off to port about 8 or so meters away from the ship’s shuttle bay he saw what almost seemed a human like figure walking or dancing on the ship’s hull. The figure from their movements was quite agile, and graceful. Clearly a woman he would think. She was dressed in what seemed a beautiful white-yellow dress that flowed from her shoulders down her slim body to stop just above her ankles. She wore some kind of fine sandals as footwear. She stood at 5‘11 or so in height, her hair was carefully braided and looked fit for someone who was to be married to someone of noble-born blood. Most interestingly over the helmet’s comm line Karl could pick up the faint humming and singing of the woman! =/\= Mmm hmmm mmm oh my love, soon we shall be married! As alight as the brightest sun that rises in the East!=/\= he could hear in a sing song like tune. The mystery woman was clearly happy in her mind.
What seemed to be causing the power loss was that her dance was near an EPS tap that was on the ship’s hull, normally used while in port to provide power from say a starbase or such while the ship was undergoing maintenance on its primary or secondary power sources. So in effect this woman’s presence was somehow feeding energy into the tap at a time when it should not be doing so, and so was causing the low power blow outs and drains that they were experiencing.
