[snip]Seeing the first guard talking to the landing party, the second of the guards who sported a carefully cared for black beard and was armed with a sharp looking halberd came up. “..What we got here? Outlanders?” he queried both to the first guard and the group.
Not taking his eyes off the landing party the first nodded, “..Yes sir, came in on Madam Eva’s caravan just a bit ago. Say they’re here for rest, trade, and new markets..” he replied.

He was getting the sense outlanders weren’t exactly a welcome sight in the village. “That’s right. We’re just passing through, for the use of the market and to find a place to rest.”

”..I see, well you all best be on your best behaviors while in the Village. Otherwise it’ll be a short sudden drop for you all at the end of a noose! Now get going about your business!” Said the guard leader ushering them through the gate.
Once inside they team found themselves on the outskirts of the walled village. Around them were a couple of higher quality farms and their houses (though given the delapted conditions outside the village they had passed it was saying something for these, they still seemed run down over all). Farmers of both sexes and their children were already moving to get to work on the day’s farming. Curious and suspicious glances were thrown their way here and there, but overall none of the local peasantry gave them much mind.
Following a well treaded stone path/road into the village proper they soon came into its presence. The buildings around them like those outside were in rough shape, showing age, being exposed to harsh elements, and likely other effects which left their owners or inhabitants unable to keep up proper care to make them look more then barely maintained run down hovels. A few more of the local guards patrolled here and there giving the team a hard look, but so far none came to bother them.
As they came to what seemed a cross road in the village, one path leading further east, the other they had come from going west, another went south leading it seems to a more fancy run down manor, and to the north seemed to run down to a worn out walled area that gave hints at being some kind of small temple. Around them in the center here small worn wooden carts were being setup by merchants showing off a sad sight of root vegetables, fruits, and the like. One merchant was hooking wares of passable metal and leather armors, another nearby doing the same with various medieval weapons. It seems most people here could not or were unwilling to read, so everything was described in simple picture forms to attract attention. The strange gypsy caravan that had brought them here was set up just down the road to the east in front of one of the few buildings which looked in better shape and care. ‘The Blood Of The Vine Tavern’ as a rough looking shine declared. These gypsy folks seemed to be selling various rolls of cloth, silk, and such, as well as providing fortune telling, and other tricks of entertainment to anyone who cared to pay. Given a lot of attention seemed to be going into and coming out of the nearby Tavern it probably would not be a bad place to learn more about the local culture life and maybe clues on the warp pulse that had drawn them here.

David looked to the other members of the team. “What do you think? Tavern? Someone might have seen something worth hearing about.”
