Roman held the note up between two fingers. He hadn’t gone rifling through her things, he would never. It had just happened to blow towards him. “Should we go get this lovely green thing from your clothes-borrowing brother?” He asked. She was bright, bright red and as usual he was clearly enjoying it, though he did try not to embarrass her too much at one time.~ Roman
Rand just nodded at the note. She didn’t think Roman had gone through her bag, she was just afraid she’d left it open or something. Go get it?! How was she going to get out of that? If she didn’t go with him, he’d just track Randy down, on principle, for stealing it. Then an idea came to her. “He probably…won’t give it to me. I…I’ve tried to get it back. Several times.” She was too embarrassed and Roman was enjoying it, and he’d probably enjoy it more if he knew what Randy had done. But if Roman went and asked, Randy would never ever give it to him. Nope, absolutely not. Roman could ask, Randy would refuse and Rand could forget the whole thing. Randy loved to tease her but he wouldn’t do that, he wouldn’t give it to Roman…right?
Rand
“Do you want me to ask him?” Roman asked. He wouldn’t do it if she said no, but if she said yes he’d be happy to. He set the note on the side table and stood up to see what food she’d brought. Then he picked something small and sat down with it.

That was perfect, Roman could go ask. Randy would know Roman had no idea what it was. He would never give it to Roman. She looked so relieved at the idea that when she said, “Yes,” Roman would correctly assume she was relieved by the idea. Except she wasn’t relieved to get it back but that the item would remain ‘stolen.’ She sat down and picked at a salad on the tray.
Rand
Roman stood and grabbed the note off the table. Yes, he was going to just do it now. He was pretty sure Randy wasn’t on shift, and he wasn’t really hungry so the invitation to not look at so much food was too tempting to pass up. He left and went next door and knocked on the door, and then waited for Randy to answer.

Rand sat still watching Roman leave. This was good, Randy would know Roman had no idea what it was and would never give Roman the nightgown. Nope, it was fine. As soon as Roman left Rand grabbed her pajamas and darted into the bathroom. She knew she was being silly. She’d changed enough times in there when Roman had been recovering. But she felt better with him gone at the moment. Then she grabbed the extra food and put it in the smaller chiller drawer with Roman’s cream and honey. It wasn’t much and most of it was safe for Pipkin.
Randy was relaxing on his bed, bagpipe music blaring, writing a letter to Arvin. Arvin was a childhood friend that had always had a crush on Rand. Despite their failed disaster of a date when they were 13. Arvin had been hinting that he’d wanted to reach out to Rand again, and Randy felt like that would be a very bad idea for several ideas. It was time to urge Arvin to move on.
Randy heard the knock and hit the button for the door to open. “Come on in!” he called over the music. He saw Alden with a small piece of paper in his hand. He sat up, swinging his feet to the floor. “Cmdr Alden?”
Randy
Roman resisted the urge to make another dig at that darn awful noise known as ‘bagpipe music’. That wasn’t why he was here. He stepped in when he heard Randy’s voice and stood in the door way. “Nothing official, I’m afraid.” He held up the sticky note and grinned. “Stealing Rand’s clothes now, are we?”
~ Roman
Nothing official, oh this would be epic. When Alden help up the note and accused him of stealing Rand’s clothes Randy could not stop the absolutely wicked look that came to his face. He knew Alden wouldn’t have gone through her stuff, so how he came to the note was a mystery, but didn’t matter. “And you are going to recover the stolen good are you?” It also didn’t matter that he and Rand had been sharing clothes since the day they came home with their parents. “And Rand, she asked you to come get it back?” If Rand knew he was here, she had to be under the assumption that Randy would never ever give it up. Oh poor dear sister, how wrong she was.
Randy
Roman nodded, “I wouldn’t be here if she hadn’t.” He shrugged, “She wouldn’t tell me what it is, but she said she’s asked you multiple times.” Roman did not miss the look on Randy’s face, but he hadn’t the faintest idea why it was so amusing to him.

Randy stood up after turning the music off, and made quite the show of looking around and tapping a finger to his chin, as if looking for what ever it was. “Oh I bet she didn’t tell you, not even one little hint.” The chocked back laughter strained Randy’s voice. “Oh aye, she’s asked plenty. She knows just where ta find it too.” He always gave it back, and stole it from her as soon as she wasn’t looking. “She thinks I won’t give to you.” He began to laugh, hard enough to make himself cry. “But seeing as how you were such a gentleman to come get it for her, I’ll let you take it.” Randy swaggered over to the dresser, opened a drawer and took a couple t-shirts and pairs of socks out and dropped them in another drawer. “Just so there is no mistake on which item she’s wanting. There you go.” Randy moved away from the drawer and waved at it. Alden was welcome to it. And as soon as he left, Randy would too. Rand was going to kill him. But he’d be laughing when he died.
Randy
Randy was getting quite the kick out of this and Roman was getting the feeling there was something he was missing here. Randy removed the other items out of a drawer and Roman headed over and peeked in. The only item left was a rather nice looking, short, satin nightgown. Roman picked it up out of the drawer. That was why Randy found it so funny. Rand was going to be horribly embarrassed. He took the nightgown and exited the Farquharson quarters, heading the short distance down to his own where he walked in and held it up for Rand to see. “This is what Randy stole, eh?”
~ Roman
Rand was just putting the last items away. That hadn’t taken long at all. At least Roman didn’t have to look at all the food. She hadn’t gotten it to make him eat, she was just flustered at Randy and grabbing things. The door opened and a ‘don’t worry, I’ll get it back eventually. And if not it’s no big deal,’ was on the very tip of her tongue. She closed the drawer and turned to look at him, expecting some kind of head band or sweater or something. She was not expecting Randy to have given him the nightgown.
If she had had something in her hand she would have dropped it. That look on Roman’s face was enough alone to make her stomach do cartwheels and her face turn as red as her hair. Add the fact he was holding…well what he was holding. Rand wanted to disappear. Roman obviously thought it was great. Her eyes darted back and forth from his face (and that look) to the nightgown. She was so shocked and embarrassed that Randy had actually given it to Roman that she just stood there trying to figure out what Randal had been thinking. “Uh huh, that’s the one.” And it was. Randy stole it all the time. Then she suddenly sat but was unable to figure out how to stop looking from Roman to the nightgown.
Rand
Roman was acting intentionally oblivious to her embarrassment as he held up the nightgown by the shoulders as if contemplating. “He’s right, you would look gorgeous in this. Though he wrong on the other part. Green definitely suits you better than purple.” He was still wearing that look as he stared at the nightgown thinking about it.
~ Roman
Rand didn’t think she could breathe. What was he doing? Turning it this way and that - inspecting it. She swallowed, not even aware of what she was saying, just talking. “You haven’t seen the purple.” And she waved toward the closet. “It’s in the bag.” If Roman was hoping for an invitation he got one. It was more lilac than purple and really would be a wonderful color against her eyes and contrasting to her hair.
Rand
After all the secrecy, Roman was a bit surprised. He headed to the closet, hung up the green with a spare hanger from his closet, and then pulled the purple out of the bag and held it up, comparing to the green. “Well, it is nicer than I thought it would be, but I still prefer the green.” Probably because it reminded him of Valentine’s day, though the nightgown was far… More revealing, than her dress had been.
