The shuttlebay was quiet when the designated folks would arrive to check out the strange energy drain which according to scans was just outside the bay doors on the ship’s hull. This was in turn affecting localized energy transfer on this deck. So as they would enter the bay they would find a few NEs already at work fiddling with panels nearby trying to isolate what was going on but having it seems little effect.

”..I’m telling you NE Sam, the drain is a glitch! Replace the dutronic chip and plasma relay there!” NE Charles said.

”..No! I’m telling you Charles, this drain is real! I’ve checked the chip and relay three times! Changing it out won’t do anything if anything it’ll only ruin another chip and relay if we can’t cause the fault or source..” NE Sam said.

Both NE’s seemed to not yet notice the arrival of the engineers to the bay.

Karl had stopped to grab himself a diagnostic kit on his way from the bridge, he approached the two NE’s “Well boys, what have you got for me” He said with an amicable smile.

Turning with a jolt Charles was the first to reply, “..Oh sir! We got some kind of weird glitch and power drain. I told Sam we should just replace the dutronic chip and plasma relay effected and call it a day..” he said.

”..And I’m telling you its not that simple! Something is obviously causing a fault in the chip and relay! If we can’t isolate that problem, we only burn out more chips and relays!” he snapped back frustrated. Turning to Karl he continued, “..I think the drain is somewhere just outside on the hull, but we would need to suit up and do an EVA to get to it. Not that hard but EVA walks aren’t exactly my speciality sir..” he said.

Karl crossed his arms, a slight frown on his usually smiling face “You never just call it a day Charles, you double and triple check everything” He said looking towards the hull “Alright, get me an EVA suit, I’m going outside” He started a mental exercise to prepare himself for the weightlessness before grabbing his communicator from his belt =^=Karl to bridge, I’m gonna go for a walk outside, check to see if something hit us. Can you tell me how bumpy it is out there?=^=
